God's Message/Commands/Promises:
》Verses 1-12 of this chapter speaks of the Queen of Sheba. She came to Jerusalem with a mission or a quest for the truth. She heard rumors about Solomon and she wanted to know if these were sll true. So here we see a Queen seeking for truth, a typical "to see is to believe" type of person and we have more of them nowadays. So she came for the truth and wow, the truth she found! She came prepared with hard questions but God thru Solomon answered them easily and she was ovrwhelmed! I want to emphasize that whatever reasons or purpose we have for seeking the truth or God, whether it was for selfish reasons or personal ones, God will reveal Himself to us and we will be overwhelmed with His greatness just like this Queen.
》The Queen found out that Solomon was greatly favored by God, vs 5-8 shows that. She recognized that everything Solomon had was made possible because of God! That's why she praised God upon seeing the splendor of the temple and all that she saw including the answers she got from Solomon. May God also be glorified in our lives. Let it be that our victories and successes show God's greatness and He will be glorified!
》Also note that when she found out the truth, she offered gifts to Solomon. The truth that God is Solomon's source of power, strength, wisdom and fame! But take note in verse 12, the Queen received more than what she has given. Hallelujah! Truly we cannot outgive God! So the Queen, sought the truth and found God, she gave gifts and received even more than what she has given...amazing!
》verses 13-28 speaks of Solomon's splendor but let's focus on verse 23, it says there that all kings sought audience before Solomon, not for anything other than to hear the wisdom God placed in his heart. Again the emphasis on God not Solomon. Today, people wants the spotlight or the credit, forgetting that the source of everything we have and can offer is Him. Let us always give God the glory in everything and may we never forget that.
