TITLE: The King’s Edict in Behalf of the Jews
Scripture: Esther 8:1 - 17
God’s Message / God’s Commands / God’s Promises:
→ This chapter showed that on the same day where Haman’s evil ways were revealed to the King, the King gave Haman’s estate to Queen Esther. The King did not waste any time and immediately stripped Haman of power and wealth and gave it to Queen Esther. In this same scenario, God will act and give judgment to those who were not faithful to Him. Like the parable of the talents where the master took whatever talent the man who did not multiply the talents from him and gave it to the one who multiplied his talents 10 times more. In this scenario, Queen Esther was a servant and productive in the aspect of service while Haman was unproductive as he plotted evil to the Jews instead of focusing on pleasing the King. The King did not waste any time and acted on this matter immediately. Not only did Haman’s estate was given to Queen Esther, meaning his wealth, Haman’s position or authority was also removed from him and given to Mordecai. So Haman was stripped of both wealth and power, the two things he was proud of or boast of that he accomplished by his own work. All of those were taken away from him and given to his enemy. Hallelujah! God truly sees our conditions and fight for us! Thank You Jesus!
Queen Esther after exposing Haman and received justice from his evil plots against the Jews, pleaded for the life of her people. Now take note that the Queen did not make any assumptions and did not demand to have the decree sent out by Haman to kill the Jews revoked instead she pleaded to be done so. After the exposure of Haman’s evil ways, instead of gloating and rubbing it in Haman’s face of what he did wrong, Queen Esther, begged the King to revoke the decree. If we looked into this deeper, Queen Esther could have demanded for the wrong of Haman to be corrected yet instead, she begged for it to be corrected. A clear indication of her humility and gentleness, a true beauty indeed! So the King did as Queen Esther requested! And God delivered the Jews once again! Hallelujah!
Mordecai left the King’s presence in royal garments and large crown of gold and purple robe. There was celebration in the city of Susa. God delivered His people and brought joy, happiness, gladness and honor to them! There was feasting and celebrating through out the City because of this joyous event!
Prayer:
Lord Jesus, thank You for the lives of Esther, Haman and Mordecai for they have taught us a lot of valuable lessons. Lord help me to become Esther who remained humble at all times. Her strenght was in her humility and servanthood, which is why You have set her to be the Queen. The same goes with Mordecai whose trust and belief in You is so strong! I pray that I will have the same foundation of fatih as mordecai had in You Lord. In Jesus’ name Amen!
