June 19, 2015 – Friday

Start Time:   6:07 AM
End Time:     6:31 AM

Title: Psalm 119 – Sin and Shin
Scripture: Psalm 119:161 – 168

God’s Message / God’s Promise / God’s Commands:
I love how God's words can keep us calm, collective and strong in difficult times.  The topic today started with the author saying that although he had been slandered unmercifully by politicians, which means people in authority had been slandering him without mercy.  Have you ever been in a situation when someone pointed at you for doing something that you know was not your fault?  You were accused and then blamed for doing your job or for something that you have good intentions of doing?  Well this author did.  Worst, this author was being picked on...he/she was slandered unmercifully, maybe every day or day in and day out...yet this author remained stable and calm because his focus is none other than God's words alone.  The author is ecstatic, in so much joy/happiness that these slanders on his name, character, or personality, don’t even affect him that much anymore.  He even described his state like a man who strikes it rich.  Now, let's look at facts.  Most Rich people, no matter how many try to put them down, they really just don't care.  Why?  Well, because they have the wealth and they know that those words of slanders are not going to harm them because with wealth, there's power.  Well this author describes his situation the same as a rich guy.  That no matter how others try to ruin him, he didn't care because God's words has the power!  I also want to point out the intimacy that this author has with the Lord.  Not only does he cares so much about the Lord's words but his life is an open book to God...not because God sees everything but because, God is involved in his life.  God's words is his instructions, directions and he abides in God's counsel...that’s why his life is an open book to God!  May we have the same life with the Lord each day.

Prayer:
Lord Jesus, what a great lesson today.  Thank You for showing me that Your word does not only comforts us but it is our direction, our refuge...our everything.  We can rest and be at peace even if chaos is around us because we have Your word daily.  Thank You for showing me that making our lives an open book to You requires our willingness to make You involve in it and not just simply because You see everything and You know everything.  Being an open book means, You taking control of our lives...it is not merely for You to see and read upon...but it is about giving You the access to edit, add, and even delete.  Thank You Lord for increasing my knowledge today about who You are and my life with You.  In Jesus' Name, Amen!
