God’s Message / God’s Promise / God’s Commands:

→ This portion of Psalm 119 is about direction for me.  About the word being the instructions we need, not just a guide, but our lives' manual.  The author spoke of God's words unfolding and giving light.  We talk about the value of the word of the Lord as the source of life...we talk about our commitment and passion to it.  Today, we talk yet another factor that make the word of God important... it is a direction.  It is not just a love story, or the source of comfort, provision, encouragement, etc...but in totality, the word of the Lord is also an instruction, a manual that needs to be followed to the tee.  So this author recognizes that the word of the Lord is not just what we all want, in truth, it contains direction/instructions that we may not want... it is filled with words of wisdom that can direct our path and redeem us from human oppression.  So let us follow them not only because it is comfortable to us or convenient but because it is our light to the darkest path of our lives.

Prayer:

Lord Jesus, thank You for reminding me that Your word is not all about sweet stuff and  love and comfort but it also speak of the truth and instructions on what we should do and it is up to us to obey them.  Loving Your word is not just about meditating or reading or knowing it but more importantly following it.  Help me Lord to obey and not waiver.  Give me wisdom to apply the simplest instructions You have for me today.  In Jesus' Name, Amen!
