Title: A Song Of Ascents. Of David.

Scriptures: Psalm 122:1 - 9

God’s Message/Promise/Commands:

Good morning, what a great day to start with an affirmation of God's love for us and our willingness to obey Him.  Here is David, pouring out His heart with the huge excitement and joy he feels in being in the house of the Lord.  We can read through his words his longing, his happiness, his excitement...now here's a king who loved nothing but to be in the house of God.  But what is in God's house?  Is it the building? The decorations? Is it because it is well built? Or because of the famous David-thrones? Oh no!  What makes Jerusalem a great city is because it is God's house...because He dwells there.  That's the whole point of David's gladness, His joy and excitement.  And so David promised to take care of Jerusalem because God dwells in the city and that's why he ensures that the insiders are friendly and those that are hostiles are left as an outsider.  There is peace in Jerusalem because the Lord dwells in it.  And David did his part to keep it as it is for God.  

Now let us relate this today... Our Jerusalem, God's dwelling place, is ourselves now.  We are God's temple of house.  So we ought to keep the friendly insider in and remove or keep the hostile outsiders out.  There should be peace in us for the sake of the truth that God dwells in us.  We ought to keep ourselves in peace and taken cared of.  So take care of yourself in the same way You would take care of the house of the most important person in the whole universe, in Heaven and on earth!

Prayer:

Lord thank You for today, for reminding me of taking care of myself.  Thank You Lord that taking care of myself is not just for me but more on the truth that You dwell in us.  Help me Lord to take care of me for Your glory and not anyone else’’s.  Give me the wisdom to ensure that everyone in are friendly and live in peace in me and not the other way around.  Help me to keep myself at peace and protected.  Thank You Jesus!  In Jesus' Name, Amen!
