Title: Psalm 119 - Nun
Scripture: Psalm 119:105 – 112

God’s Message / God’s Promise / God’s Commands:
What an amazing reminder of the importance of God's words in our lives!  It is a lamp for our feet and a light on our path.  Are you feeling lost or hopeless today?  Are you in a dark place in your life right now and no matter which way you go, there seems to be no way out?  Well, turn to God's words!  It is the lamp for your feet and light to your path.  It will guide you out of the darkest place in your life.  It will shine through and show you the way - the right path to your salvation!    In verse 106, the author declared his oath to follow the laws of the Lord.  Despite of his circumstances or whatever he is going thru or wherever dark place he may be.  In verse 107, he spoke of his suffering - describing it as "much", yet he called to God and asked, "Preserve my life according to Your word."  God's words is our ally in all situations.  It will preserve our lives even at the darkest of times.  This author knew that and so despite of his sufferings, he chose to praise the Lord and seek God's teaching of His laws.  But this author is no perfect!  In fact, in verse 109, he admitted to constantly taking his life in his hands yet he will never forget God's law.  We all have tried obeying and failed but it's no reason to stop doing what is right...in the contrary, it should be the time to seek the word of God and hold on to it because again, God's words is our only way out of whatever dark problems we are in.  In verse 109, he spoke of taking his life in his hands - this could mean literally becoming suicidal or it could also mean that he was just not willing to surrender his life to God fully. And because of that, the wicked have set a snare for him...he is aware of the plans of his enemies (not literally) but he is sure it is not something good...yet even with this, he remained true to God's words and never strayed from it.  Now, this is the kind of commitment we ought to have to God's words!  The commitment is so strong that no matter what happens, whether our lives is at stake or anything else, we remain firm in following the word of God.  Then this author in verse 111 says, "Your statutes are my heritage forever' they are the joy of my heart.  My heart is set on keeping your decrees to the very end." - Now that's commitment!  Hope we have the same :)

Prayer:
Lord Jesus, thank You for reminding us that Your word is hope, Your word is our way out to this dark and routinary times.  Lord thank You that as we grow into knowledge of You thru Your words, we are secured and assured that our lives will be preserve by You.  Lord, accept our praises today for the truth that nothing compares to the value of Your word and so we seek it and love it.  Help me Lord to have the same passion and commitment as this author had for Your laws.  Although, it is hard to do especially when we are talking about law because it's a set of dos and donts, yet I know that Your law will keep my life and sustain me all my days.  Thank You Jesus.  in Your Name, I pray.  Amen!
