Title: Psalm 119 - Heth
Scripture: Psalm 119:57 – 64
God’s Message / God’s Promise / God’s Commands:
→ What words of commitment coming
from Heth. To declare God as his
portion, his inheritance, his wealth - can we say the same thing? Do we consider God as the most precious part of
our life? Well Heth saw it that way and
because God is his portion, he sought to obey His words. To seek His face with all his heart,
considering his ways and turned his steps to God's laws. He did not want to delay; he wants to do it
NOW! Despite of oppositions, he remembers
the law of the Lord and will give thanks to God for it. Now I want to dissect this words of
Heth. Note that in his commitment to
God's word, there is obedience and seeking of God. Obedience is key but at the same time,
consistent seeking of God's face is also a must in our daily lives. The author also spoke of considering his ways
so we can clearly say that this author has weigh both sides and found that
obeying or choosing the path to God's law is the best path to take. After rationalizing and understanding the value
of taking God's words into heart and giving his commitment, we see the author
choosing to be steadfast to his decision.
The author did not easily get swayed away because in the first place, he
thought of things found that God's way is the most beneficial path for him -
this happened during the seeking of God's face and his obedience to God's
word. So there's continuous seeking and
obeying to God daily that's why when opposition comes, you will continually
remember the word of the Lord and will continually thank God despite of the
challenges you are in. Thank You Lord
for showing us Heth's process, which I believe has proven to be effective even
in my life.
Prayer:
Lord Jesus, thank You for Heth's
words today that encourages me to seek Your face daily and choose to obey Your
words day by day. Help me Lord not to
delay but act accordingly and remind me to do it because at times I am naive
that i am procrastinating. Give me
wisdom Lord that I may always value Your words as my wealth and inheritance and
portion. In Jesus' Name, Amen!
