TITLE: Job
Scripture: Job 42:1 - 16
God’s Message / God’s Commands / God’s Promises:
→ After God showed Job his wrong thinking, Job replied back to the Lord with the full understanding of his foolishness. And all the injustice he felt and the unfairness were all washed away because the truth is, man's understanding or wisdom is too little compared to God. So when things happen in our lives that we cannot understand - it is not our place to understand. Our role is to remain faithful, obedient and trust God that everything in our lives happen for a purpose and He is in control. In short, it is not our role to worry about it. We are to live free from concerns, our hearts and minds set into God's ultimate calling in our lives. What a great revelation!
After Job realized all of these, he admitted his wrong thinking and repented and as we can see from verse 7, God blessed Job for his humility and blessed him even more. Because of Job's humbleness to accept his mistake and to accept what happened to him after understanding the truth, God restored his fortunes and gave him twice as much as he had before. The great thing about the end of Job's story was, only when he realized his mistakes; only when he shut up and accepted that God has a bigger and greater purpose in His life; only when he decided to trust God for what's happening in his life (good or bad); only then did God restored and blessed him so much. In verse 12, it is stated that the Lord blessed the latter part of JOb's life more than his former. So let's fully trust God for everything in our lives, having faith in Him that He is in control whether we are experiencing good or bad, comfort or discomfort, happiness or sadness, etc. Let's fix our eyes on Him and know that whatever happens in our lives, whether good or bad, God has a bigger and greater purpose. Let us be assured that things happened in our lives because He allowed it and when He allowed it, it has a purpose! Amen!
Prayer:
Lord Jesus, Gracious and Loving God. I am grateful that You are the one taking care of me so I can live a worryfree life. Thank You because You have everything under control and I can trust You to protect, save, deliver, provide my needs, etc. I know Your wisdom is greater than my own and to have You holding my life and leading me to the path You have chosen is an assurance that things will be good and alright no matter what because You are with me at all times. Lord help me to be humble always and never to think that I know better than You do. Help me to accept and see things in Your perspective and not my own humanly sight. Give me understanding that will allow me to accept things without full knowledge of the situation but instead with my full support and trust in You alone. Thank You Lord for Your guidance and Your love that covers me daily. In Jesus’ Name, Amen!
