TITLE: For the Director of Music, A Psalm of David
Scripture: Psalm 13:1 - 6
God’s Message / God’s Commands / God’s Promises:
→ This is one of David's many psalms but so far from Chapter 1 to Chapter 13, most of David's psalms are a cry for help to God. In fact, most of them were seeking God as if He is somewhere far because David's enemies are seem like taking over his life. Yet, David remained faithful to God. He continued calling out to Him and praying before the Lord. How many of us can say the same? Look at David, crying to God psalm after psalm but every pslam he wrote, he ended it with confidence that God will answer, that God will protect and keep him safe, that God answers his prayers. David's assurance and certainty level remained high in every Psalm he wrote. Can we say the same for us? Today, we see people getting tired of praying. Feeling like nothing or no one hears them. After 1 prayer and found no answer, we get tired, we get frustrated or hurt. David was not like that at all. In this chapter, he even asked God if He will forget him forever? So this only tells us that David thought that God must have forgotten him for a time. This prayer spoke of David's struggle yet in the end, he remained positive knowing that God will stay silent forever. May we have the same determination in our prayers. That we don't easily give up and quit but remain faithful and steadfast before Him, pursuing Him, seeking Him with all our hearts, minds, souls, and bodies despite of His silence. Let us remain true and faithful in prayers.
Prayer:
Lord Jesus, thank You so much for a wonderful and amazing lesson today. I know that at times I can truly say that I get tired and hurt but Lord remind me of this passage always and help me understand that there's a purpose in the waiting. Help me Lord to see that You are faithful and just and remind me of David who faithfully and persistently calling and crying out to You despite of Your silence. Give me a heart like David Lord that I may truly understand Your ways even in a far. In Jesus' Name, Amen!
