TITLE: For the Director of Music, According to Sheminith. A Psalm of David
Scripture: Psalm 12:1 - 8
God’s Message / God’s Commands / God’s Promises:
→ In a time when David felt that the words he heard from his people are empty and deceiving, his only fortress and truth is the Lord. It's possible that David was feeling paranoid (for a reason), and it seems like people just come to him to tell him words that he wants to hear because they need something from him or because they are plotting against him, David was unsure of the people who surrounds him and felt sensitive to betrayal, his only hope was to cling on the truth and no one else can clearly reveal the truth to us than the Lord. As David illustrated God in this chapter who is the Lord that protects His people from evil tongues. He silences all flattering lips and boastful tongue - those who speak empty words and keep His people safe from these deceiving evil men and protect us from the wicked.
In this generation, when lying seems to be a natural thing to do, it is so easy to be deceived. However when we hold on and take refuge before God, we can hold on to the truth for God will silence those who speaks lies and those who intend to deceive us to lead us to danger and sufferings. Let us then hold on to the Lord who is the Only One having the ability to see clearly and beyond the lies of men.
Prayer:
Lord Jesus, thank You because we can stand on You and know that the truth is on our side. Lord, it is so difficult to discern the truth from someone today especially when the world is living in lies each day. But thank You Lord because You have given us a way out, so we will not succomb to the lies but free us from it! All we need is You, and so Jesus I hold on to You deeply and clung onto You as long as I live. In Jesus' Name, Amen!
