TITLE: The People’s Confession of Sin

Scripture:  Ezra 10:1 - 44

God’s Message / God’s Commands / God’s Promises:

→ This chapter is a continuation of chapter 9 but i am amazed of what this chapter is teaching us.  Yesterday, we learned that Ezra carried the burden of the people that it was as if he was the one who sinned in his prayer to the Lord about the sin of Judah.  His prayer was so strong that it moved the people to confess their sins.  Note that Ezra prayed and intercede for the people and if we really look into chapter 10, we can see, that it was all he did.  His prayer or his intercession was so powerful that it led the people to confess and change their ways.  Everything was voluntarily decided by the people.  Ezra did not even go to the people in the wrong and told them to repent.  In fact, Ezra only went to God and no one else.  His prayer moved the people to make a change of their wicked ways and all Ezra did was intercede, prayed and fasted for the sins of Judah.  No major reprimand was done to the people, Ezra didnt have to talk or give a sermon about their evil ways, the people personally and voluntarily did so without Ezra telling them to do so.  Clearly, this was a move from the Holy Spirit.  Ezra’s prayer was so strong and moving that the Holy Spirit moved in the lives of the people without Ezra having to do anything to them.  Hallelujah!  The people confessed and voluntarily decided to get rid themselves of their foreign wives and children.  Now this is a sacrifice for them yet they did it willingly without question.  Again, when the Holy Spirit, everything unites and in order.  Amen!

Prayer:

Lord Jesus, I am now tired of doing things on my own.  I am tired of doing all the effort and finding no satisfaction to the work I do because You were not part of it.  Lord I want You to work and make me a part of Your work from now on.  Just like Ezra, that all he did was prayed to You and intercede for the people then the Holy Spirit moved in the lives of the people.  Lord truly, this was a supernatural dealing and I want my battles to be dealt with like this.  For You have said, that the Battle is Yours.  And so I entrust the battle to You Lord.  In Jesus’ Name, Amen!
