TITLE: The Return to Jerusalem

Scripture:  Ezra 8:1 - 36

God’s Message / God’s Commands / God’s Promises:

→ This chapter speaks of how the people of Judah returned home to Jerusalem.  Ezra was very detailed oriented as shown in verses 15 to 20.  Before starting the journey, he checked and made sure that the needed tribes are there.  When he found out that there were no Levites, he made sure that they were called out to come and return home.  In these verses also, we can see that Ezra trusted God above all.  They were returning home and the journey will not be easy yet even if he knows that horses and chariots are necessities in the journey, he didn’t ask the king for those and trusted God to protect them in their journey back home.  In every step, Ezra made sure that God is glorified, even in their journey back to Jerusalem.  And God did protect and brought them safe back home.  Hallelujah!  Ezra was also very organized and made sure everything is documented.  These again are another character trait that God possess.  We know that God was the God or order, planning and organization - it was clearly shown at the 1st chapter of Genesis when HE created everything.  We can see that HE was organized and everything was done in order.  In the same way, everything God does or His work requires order and organization.  Ezra made sure there was order and everything was organized and planned appropriately for the return of the people back to Jerusalem.  Amen!  The moment they came back the first thing they did was to sacrifice to God.  A symbol of praise, worship, thanksgiving and honor to the One true God.  In every task God set for us, 3 things are constant: It is organized - all in order, people are called to do His word, it results to thanksgiving and praise.  So know that God’s work or task is always organized, is run or headed by the God’s chosen people, and the end is always a celebration with great joy!  Hallelujah!  Praise Jesus!

Prayer:

Lord Jesus, thank You for Your wondrous love and grace.  I am fully amazed of how things work out in the end.  Remind me Lord that when You called us for a task, there will always be organization for You are a God of order.  The task will also be headed by people You personally have chosen, not who we choose or who we want or think should do it.  And lastly, Your task always comes with thanksgiving, praise and worship!  A celebration with great joy!  Hallelujah!  Lord no wonder You give us the privilege to be part of You work because it is again for our own benefits.  Thank You Lord Jesus for Your great and wonderful work.  Lord I know that many times, I run away or avoid Your work because of many reasons but remind me always Lord that Your work is always organized and Your work are done by the people You Yourself have chosen and Your work always end up in Great joy!  In Jesus’ Name, Amen!
