TITLE: Interlude - Where Wisdom Is Found

Scripture:  Job 28:1 - 28 

God’s Message / God’s Commands / God’s Promises:

→ Job in this chapter sought to find wisdom.  He spoke of men seeking for gold, silver and other precious stones.  They travelled to the deepest and darkest areas to find them but what about wisdom?  This was his question.  He sought for it because he cannot understand what happens to him or why these things are happening to him.  His words spoke nothing but the truth here.  Truly God understands the way to wisdom and God said that wisdom is to fear Him and the shunning of evil is understanding.  This is the conclusion of this chapter though Job's words were not finished yet.  However I want to dwell in his last words of this chapter.  The fear of the Lord is the beginning of wisdom and the shunning or repulsing evil is understanding.  Indeed, there's no specific area where you can find wisdom.  You can live in a library and be surrounded by wise men yet in the end, you are still a fool.  But the only source of wisdom is the Lord and fearing Him enough to shun evil will open our eyes to the truth that will guide us in living the life we ought to live.  Please note that shunning evil doesnt mean, not knowing it.  In fact, how can you shun evil when you don't know evil.  So it is important to know evil and despite of that knowledge, despite of its attractiveness and allure, you decide to shun it from you.  Now that's clear understanding and pure wisdom.  

Prayer:

Lord Jesus, help me to have Your wisdom Lord by understanding that Your ways are always better; by making a choice to follow You no matter how tempting evil is.  Guide me to the truth and give me the strength to shun evil because of my fear of You.  Give me true wisdom and understanding Lord and not just based on my own.  In Jesus' Name, Amen!
