Title: Psalm 99
Scripture: Psalm 99:1 – 9
God’s Message / God’s Promise / God’s Commands:
→ The Lord reigns! Hallelujah!
What a great start of the day to know the God, our God reigns every
single time of our lives and even after that.
This author knows the importance of celebrating and being joyful for the
truth that God, our God, reigns and forever will reign. The author spoke of His reign and nations
tremble in fear. God's power and
strength are incomparable to any human or visible strength we can think or
imagine of. So let us praise Him and His
Name. But note that the author also
emphasized in this chapter, God as a Holy God!
In verse 4, the author continued in emphasizing God's love for justice! God being just and right! So we exalt the
Lord our God and worship Him for HE is HOLY!
Once again, the author reiterated God as Holy!
In verses 6 to 7, the author
mentioned Moses and Aaron and Samuel who had intimate relationship with the
Lord and God speaking to them but spoke to them from the pillar of cloud - a
certain distance from them - those who keep His statutes and His decrees
because He is Holy! In the same way, God
spoke to us at a specific distance because He is Holy and let's face it, at
this time, we are not! But we strive to
do what is right by keeping His statutes and decrees. But despite the distance, the fact remains
that God answers them and in the same way, HE will also answer us. So exalt the Lord and praise Him! Worship Him for He is Holy, right and
just! All these are beneficial for our
sake!
Prayer:
Lord Jesus, thank You because Your
are Holy! Thank You because You love
justice and You are right and just.
Thank You because despite of the oppression, persecution and whatever
injustice treatment of our enemies to us, we can be assured that we will be
vindicated because You are just and You are holy. Thank You Lord that despite of Your holiness
and our condition (unholy), You still speak to us. You never allow our ungodliness or
unrighteousness hinder us in coming before You.
Thank You because You hear us and You answer! In Jesus' Name, Amen!
