Title: Psalm 107

Scripture: Psalm 107:1 – 43

God’s Message / God’s Promise / God’s Commands:

→ Psalm 107 is a continuation of list of reasons why it is important to give thanks to the Lord.  This chapter seems to be part of the previous chapter.  The author encouraged the redeemed of the Lord to tell their story - are you redeemed by the Lord?  Then give thanks to the Lord for He is good and His love endures forever!  I know I am!  Thank You Lord!

The author enumerated some of the redeemed people of the Lord who have every reason to praise and thank Him each day!  He started with those who are wandering in the desert wastelands; those who were hungry and thirsty and their lives having no direction...but when they call and cry out to God in their trouble, He delivers them in distress and led them by a straight way...in verse 8, the author said, let them give thanks for the Lord for His unfailing love and His wonderful deeds for mankind for He satisfies the thirsty and fills the hungry with good things - are you wandering in your life right now?  Are you finding yourself trap or stagnant in your life's journey?  Are you feeling hungry and thirsty in your spiritual life?  Well, cry out to God and He will sure to deliver and satisfies you!  Hallelujah!

In verse 10, the author spoke of some of the redeemed people of the Lord who sat in darkness; they are prisoners of sufferings and rebelled against God's commands.  Not only did they rebel but they despised the plans of the Most High so God subjected them to bitter labor.  They stumbled and no one to help them.  But when they cried to the Lord in their trouble, God came and saved them from their distress!  Hallelujah!  God brought them out of darkness and broke their chains so give thanks to God for His unfailing love and His wonderful deeds.  Are you feeling deep into sin right now?  Are you in a rebellion state of your life towards God?  Well, God's ear is not shut for you!  Cry out to Him and call upon His Name and His hands will deliver You to safety!  Hallelujah!

In verse 17, the author spoke of another group of redeemed people of the Lord, they are the ones who became fools through their rebellious ways and became addicted to sin, which causes their sufferings.  Their lives became a ruin because of the stupid decisions they make.  I believe these are people who became addicted and their lives are ultimately destroyed because of their foolish decisions.  Yet when they cried to the Lord in their trouble, here is God again - ready to save them from their distress.  He sent out His word and healed them; rescues them from their graves...Praise the Lord!  Let them give thanks to the Lord for His unfailing love and His wonderful deeds!  Are you in the brink of death?  Are you losing your life for the foolish decisions you made?  Come to God and He will save you from death and heal/restore you back to life!  Amen!

Now in verse 23, the author spoke of those who witnessed the Lord's great works and strength but in that experienced, they became afraid and their courage melted away, like Peter who was already walking on water when fears swept in and caused him to drown.  But when they cried out to the Lord...ohhh (verse 28), they call out to God and He brought them out of their distress!  Hallelujah!  God stilled the storm in their lives and hushed the waves of troubles in their path.  Let them give thanks to the Lord for His unfailing love and wonderful deeds!  Hallelujah!  Are you in the middle of pursuing the calling of the Lord in your life and midway to that process, you felt the mission is too big for you?  Or you felt fear upon seeing the great plans of God, which you are a part of?  Then call out to God and He will bring you out of whatever trouble you are in!  Amazing Lord!

The Lord is true to His love for us and His love is unfailing and His works are wonderful and amazing!  He can turn rivers into desert, day into night, fruitfulness into a waste because of wickedness but at the same time, He can turn desert into pools of water, parched ground into flowing springs, restore life to a dying man; and many more, for righteousness!

Man's numbers decreased and they are humbled by oppression, calamity and sorrow but He also lifts up the needy, increased their families and blessed the upright!  So listen and understand.  Hear the words of the Lord and take heed to His commands.  Think of the loving deeds of the Lord in your life today!  Hallelujah!

Prayer:

Lord Jesus, what a wonderful message!  I am totally uplifted today Lord for Your great and awesome word!  I am amazed of Your greatness and love.  Truly, Your love is unfailing and wonderful are Your deeds.  Lord I can see myself in all the different groups of Your redeemed people because once, I was a wanderer, a lost soul.  Another time, I was rebellious and not understanding Your plans and want mine instead.  Another time, I was totally deep into sin, my life (spiritual life) in the verge of death, and I have witnessed Your glory and amazing wonders, I have taken a glimpse of the power You hold and many times, I have back down because I was afraid of the responsibility and accountability of the mission, You have placed upon my shoulder.  But Lord, I call upon You today, I cry out Lord for help!  And I am comforted that You will deliver me and restore me back to life and bring me out of my distress/trouble.  So I will give thanks to You Lord for Your unfailing love and wonderful deeds.  You are indeed amazing and marvelous!  Thank You Lord Jesus!  Thank You for Your great love and works in my life.  I love You!  In Jesus' Name, Amen!
