Title: Psalm 98

Scripture: Psalm 98:1 – 9

God’s Message / God’s Promise / God’s Commands:

→ What a beautiful day to start with words of praises!  Hallelujah!  Thank You Jesus for another wonderful and inspiring and filled with amazing truth from Your word.  Chapter 98 is another joyous and celebration psalm.  The author urged everyone to sing to the Lord a new song for the marvelous things He has done, His right hand and His holy arm have worked salvation for Him - note that without faith, our eyes will blind to see this.  The author spoke of God revealing His righteousness to the nations, remembering His love and faithfulness to Israel and to all the ends of the earth, God's salvation is seen. The writer continued with joy, possibly writing this psalm with a tone or in tune of a celebration, with shouting and dancing, happy as ever! 

In verse 4, the writer encouraged everyone to shout for joy to sing or explode in jubilant song with music and harp... all in the context of a happy celebration.

In verse 9, the reason was revealed!  The reason for the joyous celebration and the breaking out in songs and dancing and music...but prior to that, the author even stated that nature rejoices with us!  So it is not only the righteous breaking out in joy and celebration but including the sea, the rivers, the mountains...all of God's wonderful created nature!  For what reason?  It is clear, verse 9 says one thing..."let them sing before the Lord, for He comes to judge the earth.  He will judge the world in righteousness and the peoples in equity!"  God's judgment to the world or the whole earth, is our joy!  Something that we are longing for and not feared.  We want God to come and judge the earth because then we are given what is fairly ours...what is that you ask?  The right question my friend is who?  Jesus!

Prayer:

Lord Jesus, thank You for yet another fruitful message.  It is simple but powerful and I learned a lot from it Lord.  This confirms what You have been telling me for the past few days, You are coming soon!  And I am to rejoice because of that.  I am a little sad for those who have lost their ways and I want to pray and have mercy on them Lord but literally, part of me wants You to come back now.  I know I will never be deserving but I believe in Your love, that's why I can say and be certain that You will save and deliver me.  Lord I have chosen Your righteous path and though I am weak, I walked that path with You so I can keep up and continue the journey.  Lord remember me when You come, remember me and never forget our precious moments.  Never forget Your love for me Jesus.  Father, Do not turn Your ears from my calls or keep silent in my cries.  Lord, I only live for You and because of You.  Without You, I will be nothing and useless and without direction and a mess and worse... You know what I'm saying Lord.  I long for Your coming, for You to judge the earth, but I am never deserving of a place with You or a time spent with You...that's why I will not push You to do what I want rather I surrender and accept Your plans are better than mine.  Help me to be ready Lord for Your judgment.  In Jesus' Name, Amen!
