Title: A Song.  A Psalm of David.
Scripture: Psalm 108:1 – 13

God’s Message / God’s Promise / God’s Commands:
What a delight to have one of David's song today.  Psalm 108 is a personal song of David to God and it is, for me, an honor to have one of the greatest kings personal composition shared to me.  Thank You Lord for a wonderful opportunity.  David's words are so positive even if his situation may not be.  This chapter is just a short one but if we look into the end of the chapter, we can see that this is a time when the people of the Lord is in trouble, I guess, why do i say this?  Because in verse 10-11,  David said, "Who will bring me to the fortified city?  Who will lead me to Edom?  Is it not you, God, you who have rejected us and no longer go out with our armies?"  It sounds like, the Lord has turned His back on His people and they are now in distress or in the hands of their enemies, yet this is the only verse that speaks of a bad situation, the rest of the whole chapter, you will see David's spirit high and hopeful.  In fact, he started the whole psalm with a firm illustration of what his heart is even in this difficult times.  He said in verse 1, "My hear, O God, is steadfast; I will sing and make music with all my soul."  The key there is steadfast!  His heart remains strong and loyal, committed, devoted, dedicated, resolute, true, etc...despite of the fact that in verse 11, it says that God has rejected them.  What a faith!  Now this is what God is saying!  For us to learn living in faith that even in the worst times of all, our situation should not impact the truth of God's words!  Let us remain steadfast like David who can create a song, a psalm of worship to God even in a time, when God has hidden Himself from us.  The question now is, are we up for this challenge?

Prayer:
Lord Jesus what a great example David is.  Thank You for a wonderful heart You have given him and I would love to have the same heart as he did.  Lord help me to stand firm and remain steadfast in You even in difficult times...even in times when things just doesn't seem right or when things are just so difficult or even so relaxing.  Lord help me to lean on to Your truth at all times and never waiver even if what i see, hear, or feel tells me something else.  Help me to be resolute and loyal to Your word and promise because I know You are.  Give me the patience, the wisdom, and the ability to endure with You by my side.  It's the only way to go through it and I will take that chance so long as it is with You.  Give me the strength to carry on and turn my words into a reality in my life Lord.  In Jesus' Name, Amen!
