Title: Psalm 106.
Scripture: Psalm 105:1 – 48
God’s Message / God’s Promise / God’s Commands:
→ What a great day to start with
thanksgiving! Thank you Lord for Psalm
106. This chapter is a psalm of
thanksgiving to the Lord. Giving God
thanks for the simplest reason of all - because He is good and His love endures
forever! Now what does it really mean? The little things in our lives each day that
we consider good shows the love of the Lord for us so we ought to give Him
thanks for it the moment we see it. We
have to open our eyes for it - searching for it, if necessary because not all
the time, our being is in a thankful mode.
So it is important that we condition ourselves to give thanks each day
and openly searching for God's goodness and love will be a great help! And it's the right thing to do too. Verse 3 said that blessed are those who act
justly, who always do what is right! So
to openly and actively search for God's goodness and love is the right thing to
do and when we do it, we are blessed!
Hallelujah!
The previous chapter spoke of God
as the source of all creation and that His creations are interconnected at all
times. This chapter today, speaks of
God's love for us and goodness that even when we have sinned or our ancestors
did, He still saved us and rebuked nature so we can be delivered out of our
enemies' hands. That's how good God is
and His love enduring forever.
In verse 13, the author spoke
again of another failure we humans are guilty of...forgetfulness. We tend to forget the miracles God did and
has done for us, yet, God gave what the people requested in the wilderness -
food! In the camp, when people grew
envious of Moses and Aaron, they worshiped other gods and so the land
swallowed them up...again they forgot God who saved them from Egypt, the
miracles He performed for them to bring them to safety. Time and time again, this has become the
cycle in the wilderness. God was
merciful and gracious but men, forgot and are selfish and just do things that
angers the Lord. The Lord was patient with
His people until His anger rose up and gave them to their enemies to be
oppressed. But many times, God delivered
them out, but the people rebelled and wasted away in sin...so they are given
back to their enemies. Despite of all of
this, God took note of His people's distress when He hears their cry. Oh what a loving God truly He is. For the people's sake, He remembered His
promise and caused all who are held His people captive to show His people
mercy. What an amazing God! Hallelujah!
So this author, strongly
encourages us to praise His Name, the God of Israel from everlasting to
everlasting! Amen!
Prayer:
Lord Jesus, what a wonderful
message to know that Your love for me endures forever. Despite of my multiple failures or
consciously wrong choices, You punishes and judge but Your love surpasses Your
anger. Lord, I am grateful and privilege
to be part of the people You love. I am
amazed of how awesome Your love is for me and how it is amazingly able to save
me time and time again. Lord, I cannot
promise that I will not fail because You know me better than I know myself...so
I will not promise that. But I promise
You Lord to walk with You at all times, whatever my present condition of myself
is (whether I feel blameless or sinful)
I will walk with You at all times.
And like Moses I say to You Lord, If you are not going with me then
please do not send me away from this place where You are with me. For how will other people know that You found
favor in me? Your presence distinguishes
me from other people on earth. And I
pray that You answer the same as You have answered Moses, that You will do as I
asked because I have found favor in You and because You know me. Hallelujah!
Glory to Your Name forever! In
Jesus' Name, Amen!
