Title: A Psalm Of David

Scripture: Psalm 23:1 – 6

God’s Message / God’s Promise / God’s Commands:

→ One of most strongest Psalms that David wrote in my family's life is Psalm 23.  This chapter spoke of God's faithfulness and commitment to us, assuring us that when we follow Him, we choose to do what is right and good for us all along.  David knew the Lord as his Shepherd.  One who takes care of him and bring him to safety and satisfaction.  A sheep without a shepherd will be lost but with the Shepherd, his life will be filled with joy and satisfaction.  The Shepherd is the sheep's protector and leader.  He is the guide towards food, refuge and safety.  He is the provider of their needs and with Him, even if there are predators around, the sheep is protected and that's who God is in our lives.  This chapter was a meaningful one for our family especially to my Father who suffered a nervous breakdown when we was still alive and received his strength back by holding on to the words of David in this chapter. 

Even David knew that he will still walk through the darkest the valley but he knows that he doesn't walk the path alone.  Amazingly, David illustrated God's rod and staff as his comfort.  A rod or staff serves as guide and can hinder the sheep to go astray and I believe this is the word of the Lord that teaches us what is right and wrong, helping us daily to make the right choices in life. 

David wrote that God prepares a table before him in the presence of his enemies.  Wow!  In the midst of our enemies, we are filled and satisfied!  Our hunger or whatever needs we have are met even in the darkest times or even if there are multiple problems at hand!  And God does not only provide or satisfies, He provides abundance.  David said his cup overflows!  This speaks of abundance or overflowing supply!  Hallelujah!  So the answer is in our Shepherd! 

I love that David knew that God's goodness and love follows him or us all the days of our lives!  Amen!  Glory to His Name.  Amazing that God's goodness and His love follows us daily all the days of our lives!  Isn't that amazing!  What a wonderful God we truly serve!  And so I will dwell in the house of the Lord forever, Amen!

Prayer:

Lord God Almighty, Wondrous King and Marvelous Lord! I am grateful and in awe of Your wondrous love and goodness to me.  Thank You Jesus for Your Grace and mercy and love and goodness that follows me every day.  Thank You because You give it to me abundantly daily and I am overwhelmed and overjoyed for the blessings You pour out each day.  Lord You are my Shepherd and I want to dwell in Your house forever!  I choose You Lord for You have chosen me first.  I want to stay and stand firm in You for with You, I will lack NOTHING!  Hallelujah!  I am amazed that despite of the rocky roads I have to travel, or the darkest path I have to go through, I know You are my Light and my Guide; my Protector and My Shepherd!  Thank You Jesus for a wonderful life with You.  I long to live each day with You by my side.  Thank You for the peace and the assurance that life is beautiful with You in it!  In Jesus' Name, Amen!
