Title: Of David. A maskil.
Scripture: Psalm 32:1 – 11
God’s Message / God’s Promise / God’s Commands:
→ David understood the meaning of being
blessed. It is more than wealth or
promotions or possessions, being blessed is undeserved favor or ultimately
grace. In this chapter, we read David
talking about the blessed one, being the one whose sins were forgiven or
covered. The one whose sin the Lord does
not count against him. Now, no money can
clearly forgive someone or cover one's sin to a point of guilt-free. Only can do that and He did to us. So David knew how blessed he is. How amazing God's love for him because He has
forgiven his sins against the Lord. Now
that's true blessing! something that
money can never buy.
Amazingly, David spoke in verse 3 about his
bones wasting away when he keeps silent.
I believe he was talking about asking for forgiveness or confession in
this chapter. Many times, we sin and we
forget about it because we don't want to feel guilty. We don't ask for forgiveness because we no
longer want to remember the wrong we have done.
Yet David understood the meaning of guilt. That even if he forgets and don't think about
his sins no more without confessing it, his bones just get wasted away because
of his groaning all day. He understood
the feeling of not being at peace as he illustrated, how God's hands are heavy
on him day and night.
But the moment he confessed his sin, the
Lord forgives and the guild of his sin was wiped away. Therefore there is no point of hiding because
you cannot hide from your sins. David
encourages us to pray to God while He can still be found. The truth of this is that time will come when
God can no longer be found and when that happens...it's going to be too
late. so pray today when He can still be
found for He is easy to forgive. Do not
hide from God but instead make Him your hiding place. Wow!
What a great thought! I would
love that Lord to have You as my hiding my place not the one I'm hiding from.
David gave great instructions and teachings
from verse 8. He knew that the wicked
ways are many and so he advised us to not become like the horse or the mule who
do not understand and requires bit and bridle to be controlled. Instead be obedient and have an open understanding
of God because God's unfailing love surrounds those who trusts Him. And we all ought to rejoice in the Lord and
be glad for we are blessed and we have God on our side! Hallelujah!
Prayer:
Lord Jesus, thank You for this wonderful
lesson. Thank You for showing me that I
must ask forgiveness immediately and not wait or hide from my sins because the
truth is, I will never be able to hide away from You nor from my sins. Help me Lord to be quick to repent, knowing
that You are easy to forgive those who love and trusts You. Thank You Lord because truly, I am
blessed! In Jesus' Name, Amen!
