Title: For The Director Of Music, To The Tune Of “The
Doe Of The Morning.” A Psalm Of David
Scripture: Psalm 22:1 – 31
God’s Message / God’s Promise / God’s Commands:
→ In this chapter, David was clearly in
distress. He was in trouble and he spoke
of his current suffering like a man scorned by everyone and despised by
all. He was surrounded by his enemy and was
feeling helpless at that point when he wrote this psalm. Despite of the heaviness of his troubles or
the burdens he carried, David remained positive and in firm with his belief
that God will deliver him. He never
faltered or waiver from that truth knowing in full certainty that God will save
him in His ways even if it means saving him is death. David knew God and he spoke of God being his
God since he was brought out of the womb.
Wow! Many of us, will remember
the day we surrender our lives to the Lord and made Him our God but David
recognized God as his God the moment he was out of his mother's belly even
before he had any understanding of things.
Now that's belief is solid and strong!
God was not God only when we accepted Him to be the God of our
lives. He was God ever since of time and
whether we accepted Him in our lives or not, that did not diminish or change
His character and role! I like how David
said that it was God who made him trust in Him.
Now this is a man who completely recognized himself as powerless! David did have a free will and he chose God
but David knew that he chose God because God chose him or better yet, because
God made him choose Him! Wow! Clearly, this is a man who knows that nothing
even his choice is his own! Because God does everything and align everything,
the circumstances, the situations, etc that we ourselves will choose Him! So we can never say that it is our choice
that God became God of our lives. We can
never get the credit because God did everything for us! Amazing!
And so with this understanding, David never
lost hope of God saving him because God did everything for David to trust Him
in the very beginning. So whether the result was his death or his victory,
David knew that it will be ultimate for his deliverance! And so he will declare God's Name to his
people and praise Him! Revering Him for
He listened to his cry for help. All the
people will then remember and turn back to God and will proclaim His
righteousness, declaring it even to the yet unborn. Hallelujah!
Prayer:
Lord Jesus, amazing Father and King! You are truly magnificent and all
knowing. You are in control of things
and powerful to turn everything in according to Your magnificent plans. Lord help me to trust You the way David
did. To recognize that me trusting You
is Your doing not even my own so it can never be credited to me. I am truly a mere instrument for Your Glory
and Praise. Lord let me realized and
apply this in my life that I may see my weaknesses and Your greatness at all times. In Jesus' Name, Amen!
