Title: A Psalm.  A Song. For the dedication of the Temple of David
Scripture: Psalm 30:1 - 23

God’s Message / God’s Promise / God’s Commands:
This psalm was a song of David for the dedication of the temple yet if you read it, this whole chapter spoke of how David was grateful and amazed of God's doings in his life so he (David) will praise Him forever!  David was dedicating the temple yet for some reason, I believe David knew that he was the temple of God because everything he wrote in this song was in thanksgiving of what God has done to him personally.  How God lifted him out of the depths, how he called unto God and God healed him, how the Lord brought him up from the realm of the dead and spared him from going down to the pit - sounds like David was in the verge of dying, doesn't it?  So he will praise the Lord for He is faithful to His people and His anger only lasts a moment.  Clearly, David felt secure in the Lord but when God hides His face, David is dismayed.  Now who can say the same?  I believe many can say that we are secure when God is around but only a few can feel dismayed when God hid His face because most of the time, people tend to be angry or mad or feel hurt when God hid His face today - as if it is God's duty to come out and deliver them when in fact, God is not bound of any of that because HE is God!
What i like about this chapter is when David declared, what is gained if I am silenced?  So He will not be silenced because nothing is gained from it!  So He will proclaim Him faithfulness! For God turned his wailing into dancing and removed his sackcloth and clothed him with joy that he could nothing but sing His praise and not be silent!  That's why David said, HE will praise Him forever.  May we have the same mindset today.  May we have the same heart!  That we will not be silent too because no one and nothing is gained in our silence!  We ought to declare God's praise!

Prayer:
Lord Jesus, merciful and just!  Thank You for this another day filled with lesson and truth.  Help me Lord to apply this in my life.  I want to have the heart of David who could not stop himself from praising You for You turn my mourning into dancing and removed my sackcloth too and give me joy!  Lord help me to see that everything relates to the Temple relates to me as David knew!  Help me to recognize that dedicating the temple is dedicating myself to You with the full understanding that dedicate means devoting, committing, pledging, surrendering, giving, sacrificing, etc.  Such heavy words but it's the truth and this truth I must apply in my life, I dedicate myself to You Lord in praising You all the days of my life!  In Jesus' Name, Amen!
