Title: For the Director of Music. A maskil of David.  When Doeg the Edomite had gone to Saul and told him: “David has gone to the house of Ahimelek.”
Scripture: Psalm 52:1 – 9

God’s Message / God’s Promise / God’s Commands:
David wrote this psalm to teach us something, according to "easyenglish.info/bible-dictionary" the meaning of a maskil is a psalm that teaches you something.  So bear this in mind as we read through the 9 verses of this chapter.
David clearly was talking to someone here, specifically, someone who is wicked or chose evil.  So he gave us a clear illustration of a wicked person - someone who boasts all day long, practice deceits, with tongue that plots destructions, who love evil rather than good, falsehood rather than the truth, and who love harmful word. So clearly, a wicked person boils down to intentions because everyone boasts but as Christians, we are to boast of Christ, we are to use our tongue for good, speak words of love, choose evil and hold on to the truth and speak it!  But the opposite is the wicked, which again boils down to intentions.  This is all true but upon meditating further, aren't we all guilty of this at some point?  Because we are all capable of these evil intentions and actions... the difference really is the choices we make.  So I believe that instead of focusing on a specific wicked person, why not read this through like a man struggling between choosing to be good or bad.
In verse 5, David declared the result or the end plan for the wicked.  God will bring them down and will uproot him from the land of the living.  And the righteous will laugh at them.  So the struggle is within us, we know the result of our choices, David pointed it out clearly in this chapter.  Would we want to be those that God put down?  Or the ones laughing like an olive tree flourishing in the house of God.  The choice is ours.  Let us trust in God's unfailing love forever.  Let us praise Him for what He has done for us and let us put our hope in His Name!  amen!

Prayer:
Lord Jesus, thank You for this.  Thank You for helping me to realize that every day I have 2 choices: to be righteous or to be wicked.  The choice falls in my hands and You have shown me the outcome for each.  Help me Lord to choose the path You desire for me.  Give me the strength and the will to follow and obey.  Help me to resist my own selfish desire in following my own plans.  Give me wisdom to handle every decisions I have to make daily.  Thank You!  in Jesus' Name, Amen!
