Title: BOOK III. A Psalm Of Asaph.
Scripture: Psalm 73:1 – 28

God’s Message / God’s Promise / God’s Commands:
This is one of the powerful psalms I have read and very close to reality as well.  The author of this Psalm spoke of the truth that not many believers would want to acknowledge or accept - the truth or the reality that in this world, the wicked are prosperous; the wicked are successful; the wicked are wealthy; the wicked are getting everything they wanted and needed.  This author spoke of these harsh realities of life.  He started by saying, "Surely God is good to Israel, to those who are pure in heart." but then he admitted that he almost slipped because he envied the arrogant or the wicked for the prosperity they enjoy.  From verse 4, this author spoke of what his physical eyes saw at that time, which I believe are still evident today.  The wicked seemed to be living a life without struggles, healthy, strong, free from common human burdens, etc.  They are callous, proud and arrogant.  They live as if without a care in the world.  They are care free and living in their wealth.  Isn't this true even to this day?
What I love about this author is that he was sincere and honest.  He was not ashamed to admit his earthly feelings and emotions - that he was envious and long to have what these wicked people have.  So this author admitted that he lived in afflictions because of his envious heart.  When he tried to think of this rationally or to insert logic into this truth, he failed.  But only when he entered in the sanctuary of God that he fully understood.  When we find ourselves in a similar situation and we feel like we are longing for things that the wicked are enjoying today or maybe we see ourselves desiring for things instead of what is eternal, the solution is to enter the sanctuary of God - there we will find peace; there we will find the understanding we need and the satisfaction of what lacks in our lives.  Hallelujah!
In the sanctuary of the Lord, God revealed the final outcome of the wicked, which will enlighten us not to envy their lives today because in the end, the life their building today will not deliver them from the horrible life they are to face through eternity.  The Lord is truly a sweet husband.  This author spoke of himself as ignorant, senseless and a brute beast before the Lord yet, the Lord is always with him and God hold his right hand.  Amazing!  Thank You Lord because You do the same for me, especially in those days that I feel envious or jealous for what my flesh wanted.  Truly, whom have I in heave but You Lord and there is nothing on earth I desire but You alone.  Yes, my flesh and my heart will fail me but You Lord remain the strength of my heart and my portion forever.  You are my inheritance, my treasure, my wealth.
This author came to realization that the wicked may enjoy an amazing life on earth today but their destiny is far worse than what any of us can experience on earth today.  So it is truly good to be near God at all times rather than all the riches of the world today because in the end, God is all we need through eternity to live a life of success and prosperity. So remain steadfast and faithful and tell of God's deeds to all men.

Prayer:
Lord Jesus what an amazing psalm.  I am so filled with such great revelations and lessons today because of this psalm Lord that You allowed the writer to write about.  Thank You Lord for reminding me to guard my heart and to always seek You instead of what my flesh screamed about.  Lord help me to surrender and please take control of my flesh and my heart that I may desire and long for what is pure, true, and noble.  What is of You Lord.  Help me Jesus to always remember that all I need is to enter in Your sanctuary to be at peace and to be enlightened from whatever is bothering or troubling me.  Remind me Lord to always come into Your presence.  In Jesus' Name, Amen!
