April 18, 2015 – Saturday

Start Time:  6:34 AM
End Time:   6:47 AM

Title: For the Director of Music.  Of the Sons of Korah.  A Psalm.
Scripture: Psalm 85:1 – 13

God’s Message / God’s Promise / God’s Commands:
The author of Psalm 85 spoke of a definite understanding of what comes with what.  He or she spoke of assurance, of full trust and conviction, as such a man who witnessed and experienced it himself.  Verses 1 to 3, he spoke and testified of what the Lord had already done in the past!  So his words started with facts from the past, this is to build credibility and weight out of the words he spoke of.  Everyone knew what God had done in the past for His people - they may have forgotten them but they knew of them all.  So the author, spoke of what is common truth to everyone and that is their knowledge of God's greatness and power in the past.  Then from verse 4 to 7, this author pleaded to God to restore them but ultimately to show God's unfailing love to them and grant them the salvation they needed at that moment.
In verse 8 to 9, the author spoke of what he would do then...listen to God, fear Him and remain a faithful servant. The chapter ended with the truth of what comes with their faithfulness.  This sounds like a reminder for them to see what lies ahead for them when they remain faithful, when they listen and fear the Lord.  The author said love and faithfulness meet together.  So when they are faithful, God's love will meet our faithfulness.  When we remain righteous, God's peace will come.  The Lord will indeed give what is good and righteousness goes before God and prepares the way for His steps.  So we ought to be the righteous ones so we can prepare the way of God's steps when He comes and restores us.  We ought to remain faithful so that His love can come and meet us.  Faithfulness = love; righteousness = peace.  Choose wisely and remain steadfast on your right choice!

Prayer:
Lord Jesus, thank You for reminding me once again that I need to remain faithful and steadfast even at times when I don't feel like it or when i'm feeling tired...or when I feel like I don't care.  I need to remain faithful because my faithfulness will be rewarded with Your love.  My choice to remain righteous will bring me Your peace.  Help me Lord to stand firm to the right choices I made and keep me strong to stand firm in them.  In Jesus' Name, Amen!
