Title: Your Life Is At Stake.
Scriptures: Proverbs 4:1 – 19

God’s Message/Promise/Commands:
Listen to Solomon's words today in Proverbs 4...because he has valuable words for us.  Our lives are at stake!  This is a warning from the wisest man ever alive...we are in danger!  Solomon knew that man is a prey for the devil and he knew that we are in great danger so he took the time to write this chapter to show us that we need wisdom...God's wisdom to be exact.  In verse 11, Solomon said that he has written out clear directions to Wisdom way, a map to Righteous Road.  And we ought to follow that to protect our lives!  It's not just about reading and knowing but truly the desire in our hearts to seek Wisdom from God.  Every day, we face different challenges and every day we need God's wisdom.  So it's not a matter of having read the Word of the Lord...but literally seek His word for You like a miner digging into the earth to uncover precious gems.  This should be our attitude and expectation when we read the Word of God daily.  Because only God's word can save us from the danger that our lives are at risk at.
Another thing that I want to point out is David's influence in Solomon's life.  Solomon sought for wisdom when God asked him what he wants primarily because, Solomon was raised with a strong conviction to seek God's wisdom at a very young age.  David clearly instilled in Solomon's heart and mind the importance of having God's wisdom in his life.  In verse 3, Solomon stated that it was when he was a boy at his father's knee that his father would tell him the value of wisdom.  This tells me that as a parent, teacher, pastor, or anyone in authority over someone, we should be instilling to the young minds that wisdom is crucial in life.  That only wisdom from the Lord can save us from the danger our lives face today.  It is our responsibility as the person in charge or in authority.  We ought to impart this wisdom to the young ones - in the same way that David did to Solomon.  Remember that David is a man after God's own heart so I believe when David was instilling this great wisdom to Solomon, he was acting in line with God's own heart.
Lastly, I want to point out another truth that I learned today.  In verses 12, Solomon said "I don't want you ending up in blind alleys, or wasting time making wrong turns." People today, wants to do their own way.  They want to make their own decisions and be independent.  Some says that people have different ways of learning and some of us would need to go through the worst to learn from life.  Unfortunately, this is true!  However it doesn't need to be true to you!  With wisdom, you can walk to the road of righteousness, and avoid blind alleys or wrong turns in your life.  Although, some people will have to taste the worst to learn from their lives, you and I don't have to go through the same road...when we seek wisdom, God's wisdom will lead us to the straight path without the wrong turns.  Hallelujah!

May we all seek wisdom from God each day of our lives so we can walk to the righteous road and avoid blind alleys where our predator can corner us and eat us alive!

Prayer:
Lord Jesus, thank You for a fruitful time today.  I learned a lot.  But ultimately, I learned that there's no other way to a better life and a safe one but through You!  Help me Lord to seek for Your wisdom every day that I may walk straight to the Righteous road and not end up in a blind alley or getting lost.  Help me Lord to impart wisdom to others who You have included in my life that I may share the greatest wisdom of all - You - to them.  Help me Lord to walk with Your wisdom each day to keep me safe and away from trouble.  In Jesus' Name, Amen!

Memory Verse Share for the Day:
Proverbs 4:3-4 (The Message Version)

"When I was a boy at my father’s knee, the pride and joy of my mother, He would sit me down and drill me: “Take this to heart. Do what I tell you—live!""

Today, let us take the time to sit down and listen to our father, mother, or anyone in authority over our lives.  Take their words to heart and obey.

Have a blessed day!
