Title: A Lesson From The Ant
Scriptures: Proverbs 6:6 – 11

God’s Message/Promise/Commands:
How fitting that on a Monday morning, the start of the week, God has given us a solid lesson that we all can do to begin our week right!  God through King Solomon, taught us to learn from the smallest possible creature He created - an Ant!  We all know the story, this lesson teaches about preparedness, not being lazy or procrastinating, but being ready and doing something...Those who don't act or remains lazy can expect one thing to happen in their lives - a dirt-poor life, because poverty will be their permanent houseguest!
Now, another thing I would like us to recognize that in this short verses (from 6 -11), not only did we learn a valuable lesson that not only Christians agree on (even non-believers believe in this truth), we also learn humility.  Solomon advised us to learn from one of the smallest creatures on earth for a reason.  To learn from someone like an ant requires humility...this tells me that learning is not limited to creatures that are great or humans that are knowledgeable or wise...but even to the lesser beings or the happy-go-lucky ones, even the less fortunate or the lazy ones, we all can learn from them.  And I believe, it's a matter of choice.  Every day we have to have that conscious decision in our minds to learn from whoever or whatever we come across.  This takes a conscious effort, one that we ought to apply because learning never stops - it's a never ending process even when we grow old.

Prayer:
Lord Jesus, what a beautiful morning after a rainy night, You have given us a great morning today and a powerful word to live by.  Lord help me not to be lazy but to do something or act...laziness is a disease that many are infected with and in cold day, to be lazy sounds really reasonable.  Give me a humble heart Lord to learn from all things including the lesser beings...help me to see Your wisdom around me and help me to discover them and ultimately, apply them in my life.  In Jesus' Name, Amen!

Memory Verse Share for today:
Proverbs 6:6 (The Message Version)

"You lazy fool, look at an ant.  Watch it closely; let it teach you a thing or two."

It takes humility to learn from an ant or from someone who do not have the educational background, who has no or less experience, or who are younger than us.  But today, God is telling us to open our hearts and minds to learn from everyone, including those we think have nothing to teach us...Learning is never ending and it is free so don't miss the opportunity to learn today!
