Title: Unanswered Prayers

Scriptures: Proverbs 28:9

God’s Message/Promise/Commands:

Amazing day with Jesus!  Proverbs 28:9 says,

9 When people do not listen to God’s teachings, he does not listen to their prayers.

Today's verse is one of those verses that are hard to swallow.  It's hard to believe that God doesn't want to listen to prayers.  We have this perception of who God is - we tend to box Him into the kind of God we want.  God is good - check! God is loving - check! God is merciful - check! Wait a minute - God doesn't listen to prayers of those who do not listen to His teachings? Hmmm...That doesn't sound right?  No, that can't be.  Well, sorry to burst our bubble guys, but as much as God is good, loving and merciful, He is also just and righteous.  We can't choose the ones we like only or the ones that are convenient to us because God is infinite and cannot be limited.  So today, let this verse serves as a warning to us.  If you find your prayers unanswered, maybe it's time to check your obedience to God's teachings/words.

Prayer:

Lord Jesus, thank You for a great lesson today.  I know it's one of those lessons that are hard to accept but Lord, thank You for reminding me that You are beyond than what I have made you to be in my mind.  Lord I want to know You fully and not just the God that I limited to.  Reveal Your glory to me Lord, just like You did to Moses.  Show me Your true self that I may know You with my whole being.  In Jesus' Name, Amen!
