Title: Fear the Lord
Scriptures: Proverbs
23:17-18
God’s
Message/Promise/Commands:
Amazing day with Jesus! Proverbs 23:17 says, 17 Never envy evil
people, but always respect the Lord. 18 This will give you something to hope
for that will not disappoint you. Wow! I
mean, how often have we thought of the things that other people have, or
feeling a little hurt or disappointed when another wins a raffle by
chance. We asked ourselves, why life is unfair. Why people who wins by chance only happens to
others and not to ask? We tend try our
best to work and work for what? To be
able to get the things that we don't have right now. But remember that work's purpose is not
selfish and work is not given to plainly satisfy our selfish nature. It is for the main purpose of helping
others. And if we start feeling envious
of others and wanting to have what others have, we lose our focus on what is
important. That's why Solomon said to
always respect the Lord. In the message
version it says their "fear the Lord". Know that everything we have or has happened
to us is in accordance to God's will and if you want a better future, you can
only achieve that in God. So fear or
respect God for He is the only One who has the ability to give whatever your
hearts' desires.
Prayer:
Lord Jesus, thank You for
bringing my perspective into the right path.
Thank You for letting me understand that my selfish nature may be able
to make me feel pleasure or satisfaction temporarily but in the end, only You
can turn things around and give me my heart's desires. Lord give me wisdom to
focus on You rather than what I don't have.
In Jesus' Name, Amen!

Proverbs 23:17 - 18 (Easy to
Read Version)
17 Never envy evil people,
but always respect the Lord. 18 This will give you something to hope for that
will not disappoint you.
God tells us to stop thinking
of the things others have that you don't, instead focus on Him. Respect and Fear Him because only He has the
power to turn things around in Your situation.
Most of the time, when we are thinking of the things we want to have, we
tend to work harder to get what we want, without realizing that the purpose of
work is more for others than ourselves.
In addition to that, only God has the power to give the desires of our
hearts so instead of focusing on our own effort to achieve the things we want
in life, why not focus on the Lord, for only He has the power to give all the
desires of our hearts, which is something we can hope for that will not
disappoint us.
Happy Saturday!
