Title: A Pilgrim Song.

Scriptures: Psalm 134:1 - 3

God’s Message/Promise/Commands:

Today is the day to bless God!  Our topic today is specific to praising and blessing God.  Psalm 134 consists of 3 verses only and its main thought is encouraging and driving others to bless the Lord.  But in this verse I noticed that the author specifically refer to the "nightwatchers" of the temple.  And he encouraged everyone to bless the Lord and praise Him; to lift up our praising hands to the Holy place and bless the Lord.  And in turn, God will bless us!  Why the nightwatchers?  I asked myself this but maybe because it is during the night that we all have struggles to praise God.  The night represents rest and sleep and oftentimes, it is hard to praise the Lord at a time when your whole body just want to shut down.  When your mind is set to relax and rest for yourself, you don't want to think of something else or someone else, right?  Well, the author of this chapter knew something powerful and true that's why he urged the readers to bless and praise God even in times of our sleep or rest.  True peace and rest comes from God and it is only in His presence that we find true rest so when you are in a time when your whole body is tired and your whole being is set to rest, the best place to have the rest is in the presence of the Lord!  

Prayer:

Lord Jesus, thank You for a wonderful lesson today.  Thank You for reminding me that You are my rest.  So when I feel tired, I feel that my body is about to shut down completely, all I need to do is really just spend it with You to recharge.  Thank You Lord because You are my strength and You are my power, my rest, and my rock!  Thank You for always pushing me to the right path and for revealing such great truths in my daily walk with You.  In Jesus' Name, Amen!
