Title: Don’t Assume You Know it All.
Scriptures: Proverbs 3:1-12

God’s Message/Promise/Commands:
Chapter 3 of the book of proverbs is filled with so much wisdom and so I decided to break it down so I can internalize each wise words from King Solomon.  So the 1st part is focusing on verses 1 - 12.   King Solomon in this part, clearly is offering us wise advice.  It is indeed true that Solomon knew the nature of humans and that's why after insisting that we start with God and denying our human nature, he advised to seek wisdom from God Himself...then he went back to address our selfish nature...so he reminded us to remember what he said and never to lose grip on love and loyalty!  In a sense, he may refer to our loyalty to our choice - our choice of siding with God.  He said to tie love and loyalty around our neck and carve them in our hearts... that we strive to live well in the eyes of God and the people.  So Clearly, Solomon specified to live well not only in the eyes of God or in the eyes of people but definitely in the eyes of both God and the people.  This is process, one that requires constant reminder because many times, we are comfortable showing others our lives of integrity but in the hidden curtains of our rooms, we hide our darkest secrets...or vice versa.  So there is no room for hypocrisy!  We are to live in integrity both in God's eyes and the people's.

King Solomon knew that living right and well in the eyes of God and man is not an easy thing to do...and that's why he gave the most sound advice to help us in fulfilling that goal...he said in verse 5, to trust God from the bottom of our hearts...and here's something that we all to learn very carefully to apply each day of our lives..."don't try to figure out everything on your own." I am guilty of this!  But again, God is saying, don't stress yourself with all the things...all we have to do is listen for God's voice in everything we do or everywhere we go...He will keep us on track!  Hallelujah!  How many times do we stop every day to listen to God before doing anything?  How many times have we literally waited for God to direct us in our lives?  And we asked God, why Lord, why do you make us suffer?  When the truth is...God has given us the solution and our solution is to listen to His voice because He will direct our path.  Have we listened to Him today?

Listen to what Solomon says, "Don't assume that you know it all!" Guilty!  In many cases, we think we know better but over and over again, we are wrong!  Solomon's advise is to run to God and run from evil!  And when we do, our body will glow with health, our very bones will vibrate with life!  Hallelujah!  We will be filled with life...because we are where we belong - in God!  So give God the first and the best.  Honor Him with everything we own...Embrace God's loving correction because He corrects us for He loves us.  He delights in our obedience.  Hallelujah!

Prayer:

Lord Jesus, what a wonderful and powerful message!  Truly, I am guilty of Solomon's words.  I have the tendency to try to figure out things on my own as I believe myself to be a problem solver.  I tend to think I know better and I am sorry Lord.  I am sorry for putting you in a box, locking it and throwing away the keys.  Lord help me to run to You every time and run away from evil.  Help me to remember that it is not my job to figure things out!  My job is listen to Your voice each day.  Remind me this every day Lord.  In Jesus' Name, Amen!

Title: Make Insight Your Priority.
Scriptures: Proverbs 2:1-22

God’s Message/Promise/Commands:
Good morning!  Another wise words from King Solomon today...after giving the wisest advise yesterday - start with God!  Today, we will learn another wisdom that King Solomon shared specifically to help us.  Today, King Solomon said to make "insight" a priority!  I checked the definition of the word, insight, and what I got is that it is a deep understanding of a person or thing.  This again confirms what God has been telling us since the beginning of time, but most especially what Moses and Joshua kept on instilling to the Israelites...that is to never depart from the words of the Lord; to meditate His words day and night!  How else can we gain deeper understanding of a person or thing or even God Himself, but only through the words of God!  Solomon tells us the simplest reason why we should do this - because insight from God's words will show us the right and wrong way, so when the devil comes to entice us to do something that is not right, we can easily and confidently say NO to it because we have deeper insight of the impact of sin in our lives than its temporary pleasure!  Indeed, with greater insight, we will develop the fear of God, which is the beginning of wisdom.
This also confirms what is written in the New Testament... that we are change through the renewal of our minds.  It is in our insight that we truly get the will to say NO to sin but note that our insight should bee grounded into the word of the Lord.  And here's a promise that will encourage us to continually seek God's wisdom...Solomon said that God keeps His eye on all who live honestly and pays special attention to His loyally committed ones.  And Solomon also said that those who walk straight and with integrity will settle the land, while the corrupt or dishonest will lose their lives and be gone for good.  So choose the wisdom of God, meditate in His words.  Start with Him every day and make the insight of His words a priority in Your life!  In summary, Solomon's first 2 advises is literally "Devotional" - spending time with God, reading His words and praying!  So know that these are the 2 most important advises Solomon gave and the 1st two because Solomon knew that these 2 are critical in our relationship and walk with God daily!

Prayer:

Lord Jesus, thank You for a wonderful message, thank You because You have reminded me again the importance of spending time with You above all else.  Lord thank You because You have set me back in the right path after some time of walking astray and away from You.  Lord help me to grow deeper insight of You word that I may have the will to say No to sin every time it comes to tempt me or sway me away from the right path You have led me to.  Give me the wisdom that You freely give that Solomon mentioned in this chapter Lord that I may gain deeper understanding of Your word in my life and continually walk in the right path.  In Jesus' Name, Amen!

Title: Wise Sayings of Solomon.
Scriptures: Proverbs 1:1-33

God’s Message/Promise/Commands:
Today, we hear from the wisest king who ever lived. His words have been guidance throughout many generations, even to our generation today.  And the 1st advise King Solomon ever gived is...to start with God!  Not to ask for wisdom, or to serve or to teach yourself...but the wisest advise that Solomon gave, which is the 1st advise he ever wrote was...to start with God.  Starting with God requires bowing down to Him.  Paying close attention and never forgetting what you learned.  He then spoke of bad company, who wants to enjoy life like crazy!  Who has no regard for the consequence of their actions so long as they are having the time of their lives.  So here at the start of Solomon's proverbs, he illustrated 2 paths to choose...to start with God or to join others have the time of their lives.  Here we see that even at the beginning, we ought to recognize that we are to deny ourselves (human pleasures) already.  It is clear that the choice is to start with God or join others for the time of your lives!  So this is already a decision between your wants and what God wants.  So clearly, at the start of our relationship with God, there is already a denying of self...a commitment to start everything with the Lord and not go after our own fleshly desires.  But words coming from the wisest man ever lived on earth says, start with God!
God is ready to pour out His spirit on us however we have turned a deaf ear towards Him.  And time will come when God Himself, will turn His ears away from us because of our rebel spirit.  Even at the start of Solomon's proverbs, His words come with greatest wisdom to start with God and a warning that God call out for us and ready to pour out His spirit, but time will come that God will also turn His ears away from us.  So Solomon's words came with wisdom and warning.  Let us give ear to hear and truly listen to his words.
I will end with this...Solomon says, carelessness kills and complacency is murder.  If you think you have time and you have everything in control...think again.  You might be fooling and deceiving yourself into believing something that isn't true!  So pay attention to the words of Solomon, the wisest man ever alive and relax...in God, you are in good hands!

Prayer:

Lord Jesus, thank You for the words of Solomon.  Thank You for one of the greatest wisdom of all times - to start with You always.  And also the warning to remind us that You are ready to pour out Your Spirit now but it won't last...time will come when You will turn You ear away from us so we better pay attention now.  Help me to remember this always Lord and to apply it in my life.  Give me the wisdom and strength to remember to always start with You.  In Jesus' Name, Amen!

Title: Psalm 149.
Scriptures: Psalm 149:1 - 9

God’s Message/Promise/Commands:
Let us sing to the Lord a new song today!  Celebrate His goodness and love in our lives each moment.  Rejoicing in the knowledge that He delights in our praise.  Oh yes He does!  He is happy and pleased with our worship to Him.  Like when your husband tells you how beautiful you are out of the blue, or how he misses you while he was in the office...those words can break your heart, even to a point that can brought tears in your eyes. Remember the feeling?  Well, God can feel the same way even more towards our praise and worship to Him.  That's why when we go to Him and worship His Name, our goal is to bless Him always.  I love that in verse 5, the author said, "Let true lovers break our in praise, sing out from wherever they're sitting..." Because we are indeed God's lovers right now, so let us worship Him like a true lover.  Hallelujah!

Prayer:

Lord Jesus, wonderful God and marvelous King.  Thank You for a wonderful message.  Thank You because our worship can actually touch Your heart and bless You Lord.  May my worship and praise be pleasing to You and may You delight in my praise every day.  Help me Lord to develop the habit of worship in my life - the habit of praising You like a true lover.  Give me wisdom on how I can touch Your heart.  This is my prayer today.  In Jesus' Name, Amen!

Title: Psalm 148.
Scriptures: Psalm 146:1 - 14

God’s Message/Promise/Commands:
Glory to God!  A beautiful Sunday it is :) and a great time to worship our King.  The beauty of today is so fitting to the chapter I'm reading, Chapter 148, where the author spoke of nothing but praise to God.  He wrote and encouraged nature to praise God, the mountaintops, the sun, the moon, the morning star, the heaven, clouds...every nature.  We are part of nature, in fact, the author describes us as God's monument in verse 14, and so we are to praise Him, as one of His precious nature-creation!  He is the one who set nature in place and gave His orders and that's it!  So we are assured that we are in this time of our lives because God has set us at this time or place of our lives!  He has ordered it and so it is!  So let us praise Him because no matter what our circumstances are today, God has set us in this time of our lives and He will take care of us.  Hallelujah!

Prayer:

Lord Jesus, thank You because You are in control always!  Thank You because even when we do not understand what's the purpose or what's going on or what's going to happen to us, You are in full control and we can just trust and lean on to You to take care of us...and so far, You have not failed us with Your love.  Help me Lord, to walk in faith with You each day that no matter what happens, or what i'm going through, I know that You have ordered it and so it is!  Thank You Jesus because I know You don't abandon us instead You always look after us.  So I can be assured that I am secured and protected and loved and saved because of You.  In Jesus' Name, Amen!

Title: Psalm 147.
Scriptures: Psalm 146:1 - 20

God’s Message/Promise/Commands:
This chapter speaks nothing but God's true nature to us.  He is our rebuilder, healer and not just physical but even the heartbroken.  He bandages our wounds and He is just, giving the wicked what they deserve.  But I want to focus on the author's words about God's limitless strength...yes, His strength has no limits!  So when we are weak or tired or afraid, we can turn to His limitless strength!  He will provide for He cares for us.  He gives His undivided attention to those who fear Him.  He is the only One we can truly depend on whatever our situation may be.  It is His nature to bless us and keep peace around.  It is His nature to put the best bread on our table and He never fails on His promises.  It is nature!  Hallelujah!  To abandon us, or neglect us, will be a true opposite of His nature.  He will be contradicting Himself in doing so...and so I know that He will always take care of us and help us in whatever trouble we are in.  But note that He is also just!  It is His Nature too.  So we ought to fear Him because His attention is upon those who fear Him and His wrath to those who are wicked!  So in the end, we choose which nature of God we want in our lives... to fear Him then reject His undivided attention, or to disregard Him by becoming wicked, then suffer His wrath...your choice!

Prayer:

Lord Jesus, thank You for a great reminder that Your true nature is to love and protect and provide and heal us but at the same time You are just and righteous and Holy.  All we need to do is to make a choice, to choose You or against You.  Lord I want to choose You as my ally, as my Lord, my King, My Father, and Savior.  I want to choose You Lord.  Help me to live this choice in my life each day.  In Jesus' Name, Amen!

Title: Psalm 146.
Scriptures: Psalm 146:1 - 10

God’s Message/Promise/Commands:
What a great day to start with words of praise to our Lord God Almighty!  Chapter 146 speaks about worship and adoration to God, it looks like a continuation of the previous chapter, but i'm not sure of that.  However what I love in this chapter is the assurance from the author that God is in control.  The verse that I love most is in verse 10, the author said, "God's in-charge - always.  Zion's God is God for good!  Hallelujah!" So our God is not in-charge at our difficult times only, or our good times, or the happy times...but He is in-charge ALWAYS!  In whatever circumstances or situation we are in, He is in-charge!  And He is God for good - until the end (if there's any) or throughout eternity!  Hallelujah!  So let's praise the One and true God of all daily!

Prayer:

Lord Jesus, You are God for good!  Definitely in-charge at all times of life, the world and people.  Lord please forgive me for the sins I have done and cleanse me to be rightfully worthy to come before You.  Lord, I want You to remind me at all times that You are in-charge!  When I am weak and feeling helpless, You are always strong and sure.  So the weakest times of my life, I do not need to give in to that weakness, but instead I ought to look to You, my strength and my help.  For You are in-charge at all times!  In Jesus' Name, Amen!

Title: David’s Praise.
Scriptures: Psalm 145:1 - 21

God’s Message/Promise/Commands:
Bless the Lord oh my soul...this is what comes in mind right after I read today's chapter.  Chapter 145 is focus on blessing God, worshiping Him, and giving Him praise - the title of this chapter alone already reveals the content of the whole chapter, "David's Praise".  But how David composed each word makes it very personal not only to him but also to us, and something we can all relate to.  Because everything David wrote here is true and it is true then and it is true now!  God is magnificent and indeed He can never be praised enough...His greatness has no boundaries and generations after generations has seen and been amazed of His works.  But I want to emphasize in verse 6, David wrote, "Your marvelous doings are headline news; I could write a book full of the details of your greatness" - My questions is...has God done something in your life recently?  Well, make it a headline news!  Everything God has done in our lives is worthy of headline news. But many times, we tend it to place in the classified ads or the entertainment section.  We need to make it the headline news of our lives because God's works is never short of magnificent!  He is merciful and gracious, slows to anger and abounding in love; He is good to one and all; everything He does is suffused with grace.  I could go on and on with David's words but everything is true then and now.  So let us all praise and glorify Him...make everything He does a headline news in our lives...letting the world know of His power of good...for He does what He said and is gracious in everything He does.  He never fails and never late.  He is generous at fault and lavish His favor on us.  So let our mouths be filled with praise to God and let everything living bless Him from now to eternity.  Are you alive today?  Then bless the Lord my friend, I know there's thousands of reasons to do so.

Prayer:

Hallelujah!  Praise the Lord!  Praise You Jesus!  I worship You and thank You for all the great things You have done and will continue to do in my life.  Thank You Jesus for You are a generous God and everything You do is marked with love and grace.  Lord, today and every day of my life is a thank God day!  Because You deserve it Lord, because You are worthy of my praise.  And every day there is something to be grateful and thank You for each new blessing and grace daily in my life.  Help me Lord to have the heart of Praise like David and help me to fulfill my owns words in praising You each day of my life.  In Jesus' Name, Amen!

Title: A David Psalm.
Scriptures: Psalm 144:1 - 15

God’s Message/Promise/Commands:
What an amazing God we have!  Truly, He is glorious and gracious and truly magnificent at all times.  I am truly truly grateful and in awe of His glory and love for us each day!  I have been struggling for a task that was given to me by one of my bosses and I was clearly losing sleep and physically, it literally drained me.  The task was simple, to transcribe an audio file but it was really a huge struggle for me especially that i have loss a little bit of my hearing in my left ear due to wearing headset for years when I was working in the call center.  This experienced I had, may not be as intense as David's life's experienced during his time when he wrote Psalm 144.  It is nothing compared to what he was going through but I know for sure, I felt the struggle and the defeat.  Last night at 11pm, I felt like I am losing hope in finishing the task.  I was almost at the end of the audio but i just can’t seem to understand what the speaker is saying anymore. So I was feeling hopeless and thought that maybe i will not be able to finish the task on time.  The deadline was today.  But God is good!  I felt every word David wrote in Psalm 144 to me in finishing the audio transcription task I had.  I felt God as my mountain at those times when I patiently had to rewind, slows down and listen in carefully over and over again until I got every word the speaker said in that audio file.  I felt him rescuing me by opening my ears enough to hear the words.  I know, God had something to do with that task, how He empowered me to complete it.  And in the end I can ask the same, why does God care?  Why does He bother with me at all?  With this menial task I had?  Yet, He took the time to guide me, help me and ultimately, rescued me from this task.  Hallelujah!  So I will sing a new song to Him, as a thanksgiving for His wonderful love.

Prayer:

Lord Jesus, wonderful God and magnificent Savior.  I am truly blessed to have You in my life.  Because despite of the challenges that I face or have to face, I know I am not alone.  And yes there will be struggles, there will tiring days and sleepless nights, but I know You will step down and help me through it every time.  Hallelujah!  Glory to Your Name Lord.  In Jesus' Name, Amen!

Title: A David Psalm.
Scriptures: Psalm 143:1 - 12

God’s Message/Promise/Commands:
Another beautiful psalm from David.  A king pleading to God to be saved.  Hear the precious words of David, his cry out to God.  We too need to cry out to God as if He is the only answer to our salvation because He truly is.  What I love about what David wrote here is the fact that he emphasized on the truth that God is famous for His answers!  So the Lord delights in answering our prayers because He becomes famous of it.  He is praise and worship because of His answers to us.  And although, the enemies are hunting us down, stomping us and burying us in the dungeon, we can be assured that our Lord is the God who answers prayers.  In a hopeless times, we ought to remember like David who is feeling despair and his spirit starting to drain away... we ought to remember and ponder the ways God worked or all the things He has done for us.  We ought to remember His goodness and love and work in our lives.  He will not ignore us.  Because if He does...then that is definitely the end of us.  Let us hope and seek God like David who wants to hear God's voice the moment he wakes up and before he goes to sleep at night.  Do not hesitate for God to point out our mistakes so we can undo and correct what we have done wrong.  Let us seek God's teaching and leading so we may walk the path to Him.  In the end, I love how David ended it.  He was talking to God and said, "keep your reputation, God - give me life!" God's reputation is He is the God who answers and He has kept His reputation intact so far.  Hallelujah!

Prayer:

Lord Jesus, Gracious and loving God.  I am amazed and grateful to know that You are the God who answers.  Well, I already know this before but with David affirming it, confirming that this is somehow Your reputation, I know that You will never ignore us.  Thank You Jesus.  Lord may You be the first person I hear in the morning and the last person I talk to in the night.  Help me Lord in times that i'm feeling down or hopeless or tired.  Like this past few days, I feel like I am lacking rest (physically).  Lord rescue me from this too deep of a situation.  I am blessed to have more jobs and if I can be a blessing then I would like to do so.  Please show me the way and guide me, let me know what I need to do in settling everything in my work (all work).  In Jesus' Name, Amen!

Title: Our Journey In The Darkest of Times.
Scriptures: Matthew 24:3 - 22

God’s Message/Promise/Commands:
For the past month, God has shown me what’s happening in the world, not literally, but every day, He would let me see how the world is changing day after day.  I had seen a lot of news locally and even internationally about the evil that mankind is capable of.  And though the impact is not huge to some of the news, there are others that made a tremendous change not only to 1 certain group or person but to the whole world.  Because of my work, I got expose to these bad news daily.  And don’t get me wrong, I don’t wake up in the morning, sat on my computer and go to FB or youtube to search for these bad news.  I don’t come looking for them but it seems God has opened my eyes to them and find ways for me to come across them while I’m at work.  A month ago, I heard of a woman in a gang raped, how her life was gruesomely taken from her, like these men didn’t see her of any value.  A few weeks ago, I heard of this group of teenagers celebrating for the legalization of same sex marriage, who were partying on the streets and got burned alive.  The next week, I saw an expose of an underground party help locally in the Philippines exclusively for young people, some very young (10 years old), where photos of the party shows young women wearing nothing but their brassier and very short shorts dancing on top of young men.  The photos were sexual by nature and you will see as young as a 10-year old boy in that group.  Another is a body of a 4-year-old found in a plastic bag dead for what the police thinks, her death was caused by accidental poisoning but no one has come forward to claim her even to this day.  And there are many more sad and horrifying stories like these each day.  God has been showing me what’s happening in the world, which is actually an answered prayer but the story is for another time, and there’s one thing that I realized out from all these horrible news I came across with for months now.  It’s the reality that today, what’s WRONG is not becoming RIGHT!  Humanity has somehow twisted the truth and managed to turn sin into something good.  Last night, I watched the video of Caitlyn Jenner’s speech and even before it ended, I cried.  I cried not because I was moved by her words, although her words were very powerful and touching, but I cried because I was hurt.  I was in pain.  The truth is, if I don’t know the Bible or if I don’t know God’s truth, and I listened to her talk, I will definitely say, she’s right!  I will believe and side with her.  But thank God, He revealed the truth to me.  Caitlyn Jenner was once Bruce Jenner, he was an Olympic champion, a role model during his time; a respected athlete; a family man with 5 kids or more (I’m not sure); had 3 wives – all divorce now; but all the time he was winning gold medals, raising his children and nurturing his relationship with the women in his life, he was struggling with his identity.  And after so long of hiding, he has now come out and decided to become a transgender.  Her coming out was a huge moment for all gays and transgender in the world.  In fact, Caitlyn has become the face of transgender in the world.  Her speech was about acceptance – about accepting people for who they really are.  She spoke of the transgender as the victims; how teens transgender are bullied, stab to death, murdered and even killed their own lives because people are not able to accept them for who they are.  She portrayed them as the victims of this world and for those who will stand in their faith and say what they are doing is wrong, they become the bullies.  After that video, I cried because as I listen to her words, I realized that she was not talking to us, us who are standing in our faith and the truth in Jesus; her words literally directed to God.  It is as if she’s telling God…”This is who I am God, take it or leave it!” She spoke these words to the God who created him as a man for a purpose.  She literally defies God’s purpose for her.  So I cried and thought, she didn’t know what she was doing.  She didn’t realize what she’s saying.

Anyway, the truth is the world is turning into evil and soon, this world is not going to be so nice to live in anymore, especially for those who will carry the Name of Jesus, as spoken by Jesus Himself in Matthew 24.  Jesus warned us and spoke these words so we would know what we are getting into in the last days.  So I went back to the Bible and looked into the stories of the people who were in the darkest times of their lives too.  And I found:

Noah – God decided to wipe out humanity except him and his family because of the evil nature of men
Abraham during Sodom and Gomorrah – God decided to destroy the city because of the evil nature
Jonah – God was planning to destroy the city of Nineveh because of their evil ways if they did not repent
Jesus – The worst times of all where the innocent were slaughtered and killed before the people; the right made wrong; the sin became right…

There are others but I want to focus on these 4 men because like them, their times have become evil.  I found 3 common things from these great and amazing men:

1)       Communication with God – all 4 communicated with God; God is not the only one speaking, but they also talk to God; so there’s a two-way communication

In this dark times, it is crucial that we have our communication with God open and ready at all times; that’s why it is important that we pray (we talking to God) and read the Bible (God talking to us) in this dark times of our lives.  As we enter into the worse of life, it is key that we continue to pray and read our Bible.

2)   Intercession – each men intercede for another and let me elaborate on that.
I searched Google and found that Intercession means two things:
a)       the action of saying a prayer on behalf of another person.
b)  the action of intervening on behalf of another.
synonyms: mediation, intermediation, arbitration, conciliation, negotiation; intervention, involvement; pleading, petition, entreaty, agency; diplomacy
I want us to focus on the 2nd meaning – intervening

Noah - Noah's righteousness intervened in the death of his sons.  The Bible says only Noah was righteous at that time so even his children were wicked yet they were spared because God has chosen Noah and his family because of Noah's righteousness

Abraham - He negotiated with God for lot

Jonah - he was reluctant and disobeyed God but in the end, he obeyed and became involved in the salvation of Nineveh

Jesus - well, let's look at the meaning of arbitration...
arbitration - the use of an arbitrator to settle a dispute.
Jesus is the arbitrator to settle a dispute/problem.  We are to die for our sins but He paid the price for us; he was our arbitrator and bought us for a price to settle the biggest dispute for humans (dying for their sins)

So all four men, one way or another, intercede for someone.  In the darkest of times, we need to intercede with one another and for the world.  Whether we pray for another, or preach God through the message of our lives or literally preaching His words to others, or negotiate to God for someone else’s life, or get ourselves involve with someone’s life…we need to intercede for one another in this dark times.

3) Mission – All 4 men had a mission and whatever their mission was…it was all for the purpose of one thing…SALVATION!
Noah – built the ark for what?  To save him, and his family and the animals
Abraham – To be a great nation and Lot was his family (Lot’s descendants were the Moabites and the ammonites); so the result, lot was saved
Jonah – prophesied to the people of Nineveh…the result, the whole city was saved!
Jesus – Died for us…the result the world’s salvation
We, too have a mission as we pass through the dark times of our lives, Jesus left us with the Great Commission to go and make disciples, baptizing them in the Name of Father, the Son and the Holy Spirit and teaching them to obey the Word of the Lord.  This is our mission and ultimately the result is still SALVATION!

Title: A David Psalm.
Scriptures: Psalm 141:1 - 10

God’s Message/Promise/Commands:
Another great and full of wisdom psalm from David today.  What an awesome heart David had when he was on earth.  Look at this chapter, a king pleading for salvation from God.  But more importantly, not only does he prays for God to save him from his enemies, he asked God to save him from his own self.  Look at how He asked God in verses 3-7, about setting up a guard at his mouth and a watcher at the door of his lips.  Clearly, David was struggling at this time to do what is right and that is to be silent and allow God to fight his battles.  His enemies are courageously coming against him in the open, maligning his reputation and spreading negative rumors about him to the point of undermining and disrespecting him.  Despite of the desire of his whole being to fight back, he fought it out!  And he knew he was weak that's why he did what he knew could help him...cry out to God for help.  When others are praying for God to ruin the lives of their oppressors, here we see David praying to God, asking Him to guard and watch over his self and to keep him from sinning or retaliating, even if the human mind would understand and deemed it as okay.  He knows God doesn't want him to fight back.  So David ran to God and asked God to guard him...oh don't get me wrong, David also asked for the elimination or defeat of his oppressors, in fact he prayed about it that his enemies will be pulverized and their bones be scattered at the gates of hell - that's how angry or hurt he was.  Yet in the end, the focus or the emphasis of his prayer in this chapter is his cry out for help to control himself.  Are we mature enough to see it this way?  I hope so.  When we have our eyes only to God then it will be in our nature to just seek God's help when it comes to self-control because let's be realistic here, we are truly not able to control ourselves on our own.  We may be able to take control for a time but we will soon lose it.  So like David, let's run to God and have him watch and guard us not to lose control in a time when all of us wants to fight back our enemies.

Prayer:

Lord Jesus, thank You for this wonderful message.  This is something that I need, that we all need.  Because the reality is, we, as humans don't have control over ourselves.  We think we do but we really don't.  And we need You God to take that control and keep us in check at all times.  Help me Lord in ensuring that I walk in the path of righteousness as Noah did, that I stand firm in my Faith like Abraham did, to walk with You daily like Enoch did, and ultimately to put my trust in You at all times, especially when the struggle is within myself, like David did.  In Jesus' Name, Amen!

Title: A David Psalm.
Scriptures: Psalm 140:1 - 13

God’s Message/Promise/Commands:
Beautiful morning!  What a great day to spend with Jesus!  Today I'm reading one of David's Psalm, Chapter 140 and once again, it is filled with great knowledge and wisdom.  This chapter clearly portrays David's situation at that moment.  He was oppressed by the enemy and treated unjustly by others.  He said that vicious people are coming after him and these vicious people are those who practice sharp rhetoric of hate and hurt; they speak venomous words that kill.  So we can see that David's struggle is with people who speak ill of him, may it be directly or indirectly.  But let's stop for a moment and just analyses this further.  We are talking about David here, a King, a warrior who have been in many battles and won.  So David here was being oppressed and treated unjustly even if he was a king or a warrior.  Clearly, the enemy doesn't choose the people he attacks, it doesn't depend on the person's background or status; the only reason is because David trust in God and has been walking with Him daily.  Amazing that a king such as David would still have people turning against him...I mean, it was the people themselves who sang that David killed 10,000 yet they are brave enough to malign him or speak ill of him.
Anyway, one of the great learnings I got from this chapter is David's attitude.  As a King, he has all the right to eliminate and destroy those who speak ill of him.  In fact, he doesn't need to have a reason to have them kill, he is a king anyway.  Yet, we see him, praying for Mercy instead of getting angry or vengeful against these people.  The king had the right yet, he didn't see it that way.  In fact, he saw that the only person who can rescue him is God.  But if you really look into it, in his own power, he could have done something about it, but he didn't!  He instead ran to God and asked God to have mercy on him and protect him from them.  He asked God to take care of it.  Wow!  I mean, nowadays people are just up for their rights and fighting for it, yet here we see David, humble enough to run to God and allow Him to take care of his problems.
What I like most in this chapter is when David spoke in verses 12 to 13.  He said that he knew God is on the side of the victims and that He cares for the rights of the poor and he knows that the righteous personally thank Him, and that good people are secure in His presence.  Do we have the same sound understanding and belief when trouble comes our way?  Do we choose to be a victim knowing that God is on our side?  Do we choose to run to God and let Him protect and fight for us, knowing that good people are secure in Him?  Well, David did.  He was so secured about this truth that as a King, he considered himself a victim and poor.  Let us have the mindset of David and not allow God to fight for us today!  Amen!

Prayer:

Lord Jesus, thank you for a wonderful message.  Help me Lord to have a humble heart like David.  Help me not to seek vengeance or what is mine (in the earthly sense) but only fight for what I believe in You.  Give me wisdom to know when to fight and when not to fight back.  Help me Lord to see that in You I can be secured and I don't need to fight for myself because in You I am protected and safe and happy.  Thank You again.  In Jesus' Name, Amen!

Title: A David Psalm.
Scriptures: Psalm 139:1 - 24
God’s Message/Promise/Commands:

Good morning!  What a wonderful lesson we have today from the one of the greatest human king himself, David.  I love how David is firm with his beliefs and how he stood by them despite of its unpopularity.  But most of all, I love his openness to God...let me explain further, everything is laid before God...everything about us whether we intend for Him to see or not...but the difference between us and David's life is that he is always almost conscious of this.  Look at how he humbly spoke to God about investigating his life.  This is a man speaking with firm belief that he has truly nothing to hide.  A man who not just know that God is everywhere or omnipresence but a man who literally walked with God each day with full knowledge that everything he did, say or act is with God's consent.  So he was humble and brave to ask God to investigate his life!  In the later verse, he even asked God to cross-examine and test him.  Most of the time, we are not so willing to have this done especially with the knowledge of all the things we did in the past and even in the present or in the future.  But David was different - clearly, this man has nothing to hide and that is primarily because he walked with God each day of his life and all his actions were with consent from the Lord most High!  Now, I want to live a life like that.  A life not just open book to God because He is omnipresence but because I am conscious that He is with me at all times.  Isn't that a great life to live?  To live with God by your side each and every time.  Now, I also want to point out David's great attitude, specifically his humbleness, his humility.  In verse 24, David said, See for yourself whether I’ve done anything wrong—then guide me on the road to eternal life.  So David was not asking God to examine him as if he was bragging that his life is pure and right... in fact, he was asking God to examine him so God can pinpoint to him what he has done wrong then guide him on the road to eternal life.  Because the road to eternal life is the "wilderness" - where the Israelites wandered for 40 years and God weed out anyone who was not for Him.  So David knew that even before he can attain the eternal life that God has promised all of us, he needs to go through a weeding out process in the wilderness and so I see that this request to God to examine or investigate his life was more out of his desire to reach the promised land (eternal life with God in His presence).  Hallelujah!

Prayer:

Lord Jesus, thank You for a wonderful reminder and lesson today.  I am blessed to know that after centuries ago, I can still learn from the people You touched and used in the past in today's life and journey.  Lord I am grateful for the life of King David and I want to have the same heart as his, which is ultimately, Your heart Lord.  Help me to be humble like David who every day will see You with me in my every day activity and not just knowing that Your omnipresence.  Help to fully understand what You being omnipresence means and to walk with You each day of my life, with a conscious though of Your presence Lord in my life.  Help me to have the same heart and request like David.  I ask You Lord to examine myself as well.  I cannot say like David that I have done nothing wrong because I did, do and will probably still in the future.  But Lord I want You to search my heart, examine it then guide me to the way to Your eternal life.  I want to go through the weeding process so I can be suitable for Your kingdom and Your presence when the time comes that I reach the promise land.  Help me Lord in all this process as I am weak on my own.  In Jesus' Name, Amen!

Title: Of David..
Scriptures: Psalm 137:1 - 8

God’s Message/Promise/Commands:
What a beautiful morning to be back online again.  Last Sunday, the telephone lines near our area was struck down, possibly because of the strong wind we've been experiencing last week due to the storms we had.  So as a result, I have no dial tone and internet since Sunday and thank God because His love truly never quits on us and He knows ahead what we needed.  So He gave me this offline task that allowed me to work despite of not being online until Monday.  Yesterday was supposed to be the day the connection gets fixed but as always, things doesn't really go as planned or as expected so I'm here, still not getting my DSL connection back and just using a pocket wifi to get connected.  I decided to buy a pocket wifi yesterday because I have this feeling that my DSL connection won't be up yet, having heard that when the telephone post went down, some of the people in the neighborhood decided to steal the cable wires so when the phone company arrived here yesterday, they had to replace the wires altogether because there's nothing to connecting their network to the houses here in our area.  Anyway, that was some long explanation.  My point in all of this, after all the hassle, after not being able to work for 2 days in my 1st job, I know I may be able to compensate for the 2-day work I missed and still get paid full.  After being offline, God gave me a task to work on in my 2nd job that allowed me to get paid until Monday and when I mentioned this to my boss at my 2nd job, he said that I should take the day-off yesterday.  What a loving and wonderful God we serve.  I mean, He knows what we need truly!  Not only that, after having a rest day yesterday, God allowed me to have my hair fixed (it really badly needs fixing).  So I got a chance to spend the day off I got productively.  Althoough, I did borrow some money from our savings for Christmas, still I know God will find a way for me to pay it back.  Hallelujah Lord.  And that's why like David I can truly say that "thank You" is what everything in me says to God!  Because truly, He looks after us in ways we couldn't imagine.  It was not long ago that I was thinking that I had to miss work one day just to have my hair fix.  And I have been thinking about it because my hair was really really not presentable.  I don't know if you can relate to this but I'm sure you know what I mean.  I am not a vain person but I do my best to look presentable and having my hair rebonded at least once a year is a must :) And you know what, God knows this!  He knows what I need, not only spiritually but physically.  And so He finds the way for me.  So God is involve in our lives not just in the religious or spiritual stuff...even in our regular daily stuff, He wants to be part of it and He wants to make things easy for us so we can just rest in Him.  Thank You Lord.  So today, I come before Him and say, Psalm 138:8, "Finish what You started in me, God.  Your love is eternal - don't quit on me now!" Hallelujah!

Prayer:

Lord Jesus, thank You for Your wonderful Grace each day for me and the world.  Thank You because You want to be involved in my life and in every detail of it.  Thank you because You make things easy for me and not just in one aspect of my life but in all.  So I am blessed, truly blessed because You are my God.  Lord, again, I say it...finish what You started in me - don't quit on me now Lord.  In Jesus' Name, Amen!

Title: Psalm 137.
Scriptures: Psalm 137:1 - 9

God’s Message/Promise/Commands:
Psalm 137 was written with strong emotions.  The author clearly was in a oppressed land.  You can sense how unjustly they are treated and how they become prisoners.  Are you living a life of prison?  You may not be literally in prison right now but you feel like you don't have any freedom to praise and worship the Lord?  I believe this is true deprivation!  When we are forbidden to do what we are made to do - Praise the Lord!  And even if the world allows us to praise and worship the Lord, they do so to mock us.  Now this is what true imprisonment really is!  The lost of freedom to worship our God!  But despite of their circumstances, you can hear the author vowing to never forget Zion!  Never to forget God and Jerusalem!  We live in a world where our true nature to worship God is restricted.  We hear news of laws passed on that restrict us in worshiping God and even standing in our own faith.  But let it be that despite of the restrictions, the glory of God, His wonderful acts, His love and mercy remains fresh in our lives each day.  And one day, God will remember the oppression of the world towards us and repay them as they deserve!

Prayer:
Lord Jesus, what a great lesson to understand the value of remembering You and Your love and You goodness each day.  In a world where ironically they call "free" but literally restricted to practice what our true nature is - to worship You in Spirit and in truth, help us to remember always and never forget You!  In Jesus' Name, Amen!

Title: Psalm 136.
Scriptures: Psalm 136:1 - 26

God’s Message/Promise/Commands:
Thank the Lord today for His love never quits!  Hallelujah!  Have you ever been in love and after a some time, that love died on you?  Well, I have and it hurts.  To be loved by someone deeply one moment and then one day, that love has grown cold and you're left wondering what happened in one corner. Well, that's not going to happen with God!  Amen!  The Bible tells us that His love never quits.  His love forever endures!  So we can be assured that God's love for us is eternal and forever will be available for us.  But it doesn't mean we're not meant to experience the consequences of our wrong actions...it just means that even when we sin, His love for us never fades away!  Hallelujah!
The author understood the importance of giving thanks to God and he urged us to do this every day and gave us reasons as to why:
1) God's love never quits
2) God deserves your thanks
3) God is a miracle-working God
4) God created the cosmos (Heaven) - He is the creator of everything
5) God fought for His children and struck down the firstborn of Egypt
6) God is power
7) God saves us

and so on...but if this list is not enough, you can just start looking into your life and know that there are so many thing to thank God for ever since you were born.  So remember and know that all the good things in your life, God did it all for His love never quits.  Start giving thanks today!

Prayer:
Lord Jesus, thank You for another wonderful day and great reminder.  Lord I want You to know that my life is You.  Thank You because of the wonderful and amazing things You have done in my life.  From the moment I was inside my mother's womb, You have great plans for me that consists of nothing but good and perfect.  Thank You Jesus for saving me; for taking my slot on the cross and for shedding Your blood for me.  Thank You Lord for Your love and kindness each day that I see and experience that confirms Your love for me.  All my life I thank You Lord and know that my heart will forever be in debt to You even after You paid it in full.  In Jesus' Name, Amen!
