TITLE: The Seige Lifted

Scripture: 2 Kings 7:3 – 20

God’s Message / God’s Commands / God’s Promises:
Now there were four men with leprosy[d] at the entrance of the city gate. They said to each other, “Why stay here until we die? If we say, ‘We’ll go into the city’—the famine is there, and we will die. And if we stay here, we will die. So let’s go over to the camp of the Arameans and surrender. If they spare us, we live; if they kill us, then we die.”  At dusk they got up and went to the camp of the Arameans. When they reached the edge of the camp, no one was there, for the Lord had caused the Arameans to hear the sound of chariots and horses and a great army, so that they said to one another, “Look, the king of Israel has hired the Hittite and Egyptian kings to attack us!” So they got up and fled in the dusk and abandoned their tents and their horses and donkeys. They left the camp as it was and ran for their lives.  The men who had leprosy reached the edge of the camp, entered one of the tents and ate and drank. Then they took silver, gold and clothes, and went off and hid them. They returned and entered another tent and took some things from it and hid them also. Then they said to each other, “What we’re doing is not right. This is a day of good news and we are keeping it to ourselves. If we wait until daylight, punishment will overtake us. Let’s go at once and report this to the royal palace.”
NOTES:
Ø  God uses us as we are and He can magnify whatever we have or increase it or multiply it.  The 4 lepers had nothing on them, in fact, they have no more hope to live in Israel so they decided to go to the Arameans for they thought, they have a chance to live if the King of Aram decides to keep them and if not, then they will suffer the same faith when they remain in Israel.  So off they go, yet with nothing but themselves, they were walking and God magnified their footsteps and even amplify and edit what the Arameans hear that they thought, the Israel army is on its way to fight them.  Despite of the fact that the Israel has been sieged and they have not much food left to eat, instead of taking confidence with the facts, the Arameans feared the sound of their chariots and horses.  Most likely the sound they heard were loud and strong that they had to run for their lives.  Many times, God works in ways that are magnificent and whatever we have with us or even if we don’t have nothing but ourselves, God can use it or us to drive our enemies away!  All we need to do is surrender and allow God to do as He pleases.  Hallelujah!
Ø  God wants us to share our victory with our fellow brothers and sisters!  God wants to be glorified but He also wants us to share the victory He gave us to our fellow brothers and sisters so that more people will Praise Him.  The 4 lepers could have enjoyed everything on their own, yet God placed a desire in their hearts to share the victory over to the King of Israel.  God wants everyone to see the victory He gave us.  When God gives us a win, it is for the benefits of all His children!  Amen!

So they went and called out to the city gatekeepers and told them, “We went into the Aramean camp and no one was there—not a sound of anyone—only tethered horses and donkeys, and the tents left just as they were.”The gatekeepers shouted the news, and it was reported within the palace. The king got up in the night and said to his officers, “I will tell you what the Arameans have done to us. They know we are starving; so they have left the camp to hide in the countryside, thinking, ‘They will surely come out, and then we will take them alive and get into the city.’” One of his officers answered, “Have some men take five of the horses that are left in the city. Their plight will be like that of all the Israelites left here—yes, they will only be like all these Israelites who are doomed. So let us send them to find out what happened.”  So they selected two chariots with their horses, and the king sent them after the Aramean army. He commanded the drivers, “Go and find out what has happened.” They followed them as far as the Jordan, and they found the whole road strewn with the clothing and equipment the Arameans had thrown away in their headlong flight. So the messengers returned and reported to the king. Then the people went out and plundered the camp of the Arameans. So a seah of the finest flour sold for a shekel, and two seahs of barley sold for a shekel, as the Lord had said. Now the king had put the officer on whose arm he leaned in charge of the gate, and the people trampled him in the gateway, and he died, just as the man of God had foretold when the king came down to his house. It happened as the man of God had said to the king: “About this time tomorrow, a seah of the finest flour will sell for a shekel and two seahs of barley for a shekel at the gate of Samaria.” The officer had said to the man of God, “Look, even if the Lord should open the floodgates of the heavens, could this happen?” The man of God had replied, “You will see it with your own eyes, but you will not eat any of it!” And that is exactly what happened to him, for the people trampled him in the gateway, and he died.
NOTES:
Ø  Know that God will move the impossible and is committed and passionate in planning and doing everything in the fulfillment of His word!  Elisha already said it and though it seemed impossible upon hearing it, God will make a way and if He had to move a mountain to make everything according to what He has said it would, then it would!  Nothing is too hard or impossible for God.  So Trust in Him!  Believe and have faith!  His words are true!  This is both the good and the bad…  So the guard who did not believe Elisha, suffered what Elisha told him and he saw the miracle of the Lord but did not taste it.  How unfortunate!  So do not doubt…just obey!

Prayer:
Lord Jesus, great and mighty Warrior.  Amazing King and wonderful Savior.  I am grateful for Your victory.  For the Victory You have given in my life.  Thank You because the victory You have set for us is not only for our own good but for the good of Your people.  Thank You because You don’t have any specific qualifications to use us, You just qualifies us for the mission You have called us for.  Hallelujah!  Lord thank You because even at times that we are doubtful, You always remind us to believe.  Thank You because Your word will always come to pass and it shall be as You said it will be.  Open my eyes Lord so I may see the fulfillment of Your words every single one of it.  I want to see Your greatness and Your amazing works that I may continually praise and worship You.  Never allow me to doubt but let me hold on to You and Your word always.  In Jesus’ Name, Amen!
