The Value of Having A Routine

Have you ever felt like your life has become a routine?  It’s the same thing over and over again.  You wake up, work, eat, chat a little, laugh, go somewhere, then back at home by night, eat, sleep, rest, then the next day it’s the same thing over again.  Many people think that routine is boring and that we shouldn’t be locking ourselves into it, instead, we should be adventurous and spontaneous.  I used to think so too, especially because I am a creature of habit.  I grew up where our parents have set up a daily schedule for us to do and follow.  We don’t go out much and when we do, we usually just go to the same places we always go to.  However routine is actually not bad as it sounds today.  Routine builds discipline and consistency…and discipline and consistency are the backbone of commitment.  A person who is committed will always have the discipline and the consistency to do what he committed to.  And in truth, consistency leads to success.

I believe we are created for routines, because God, Himself, is consistent and I’m sure He has His own routines to do as well (I don’t have the specifics but maybe like, taking care of the world, taking care of you and me, etc.  Surely, these are part of His routine daily hehehe).

So today, if you’re feeling bored and tired of your same old work, same old routines, same old life… Don’t be!  Embrace it and learn to love it!  Know that by doing your routines, you are training yourself to develop discipline and consistency which will then lead you to success in everything you set your mind to do.

Have a blessed day everyone!
